North West Private Hospital (NWPH) visitor information.

We are pleased to be able to ease our visitor restrictions, however measures are still in place in order to keep our patients, visitors and staff safe.

All visitors must wear a face mask at all times while in the hospital and please use hand gel before you enter. Visitors are no longer required to show evidence of vaccination against COVID-19.

Everyone entering the hospital must complete the NWPH screening tool and must comply with social distancing, hand hygiene, cough etiquette and all staff requests.

VISITING HOURS are 2-5 pm

Huon Ward
Birthing Suites – Only two support people allowed. If partner is present, only one other person is allowed.
Antenatal/Postnatal –Partners are able to visit at any time during the day. Visiting Hours are restricted to two visitors and may be an adult and a child of any age.

Bass Ward
Visiting hours are restricted to between 2-5pm and patients may have 2 visitors at a time

Rivendell
Visiting hours are restricted to between 2-5pm and patients may have 2 visitors at a time.

North West Private Hospital (Burnie) are making some changes to our Covid-19 Testing for patients.

Effective from Monday 12th September 2022 all patients being admitted to our hospital (including day case admissions) are required to bring a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) with them and conduct a test on site, upon arrival. A staff member will be available to assist in performing the RAT if required.

This measure is in place to keep our patients, staff and visitors safe. We appreciate your understanding.

I was exposed to varied clinical scenarios, while able to work within my scope of practice.”

Due to the increased community transmission of COVID-19 we have updated our visitor restrictions

Wards: Visiting Hours are restricted to 2:00pm - 5:00pm daily, with a limit of 1 visitor per patient per day. Children cannot visit patients at this time.

Maternity: Partner/Support person ONLY. Partners are welcome to stay outside of visiting hours but can only come and go once in a 24 hour period.

· Visitors are required to complete screening prior to entering our hospital.
· All visitors must be fully vaccinated and provide evidence upon entry.
· A surgical mask must be worn by visitors at all times in the hospital.
