To teach you must first ENGAGE.
First Aid can be arduous for those repeat students but guess what!! No two of my courses are the same. Why? As a an adult educator I’ve learned that engagement stems from genuine interest by being relatable, approachable and interesting.
Yes, we cover course content but with evidence based findings on measurable data and the difference between males and female heart attacks.
If you love someone, you need to know the basics.

There’s something incredibly powerful about a room full of women who show up not just for themselves, but for others. 🤍

These incredible women stepped into the Mental Health for First Responders training with openness, courage, and a willingness to have the conversations that truly matter. What you’re seeing here isn’t just a practical scenario… it’s connection in action. It’s listening without judgment, responding with empathy, and building the confidence to support someone in their most vulnerable moments.

The life experience, compassion, and wisdom in this room created something really special.

We’re now offering a FREE short course designed to introduce the latest adrenaline devices becoming available in Australia.

This course provides a simple, practical overview of:

Both devices are registered with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and are intended for emergency use.

This is especially valuable for anyone who has recently completed anaphylaxis training but hasn’t yet been exposed to these newer devices. If your refresher isn’t due for a while, this is a great way to stay current and confident.

What is Mental Health First Aid?

It's about recognising when someone might be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis and knowing how to respond in a safe, supportive, practical way.

Physical first aid teaches us what to do when someone needs assistance physically. Mental Health First Aid teaches covers what to do when someone may be experiencing anxiety, depression, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, psychosis or substance abuse.

The training focuses on early recognition, supportive conversation guiding the person towards appropriate professional help.

It does not train to diagnose.

It gives you confidence to approach someone, listen without judgement, provide reassurance and connect them with the right support.

We talk about how common mental health challenges are and why early intervention matters. Many people are unsure what to say or worry about saying the wrong thing.
This course provides a simple framework that helps people feel more prepared to step in and offer support.

You won't become a counsellors.

What you'll become is a beacon of light where people feel safe and supported knowing you'll respond with care, respect and practical support.

“To teach is to learn twice.”

We had a super enthusiastic group of primary school teachers today sharing how their skills have been put to use since we last trained 12 months ago. It affirms the importance of confidence and knowledge in life saving skills tucked under your belt when working with little people.

Following a systematic approach in scenarios like head injuries, asthma, anaphylaxis and childhood illness can determine the impact of the outcome.

Talking about these incidents really emphasised the importance of debriefing in a collaborative sense affirming everyone has a part to play in first aid while working as a team leads to best outcomes.

MORE MEN HAVE HEART ATTACKS BUT MORE WOMEN DIE FROM THEM 💔

Symptoms are different, often more subtle in women delaying treatment. Women have different nerve pathways to men, different hormones and different biology which refers pain to the jaw, upper back, nausea or stomach pain, breathlessness and extreme fatigue.

Research shows women have worse outcomes due to the delayed recognition and treatment causing irreversible heart damage.

Survival disparities in genders is high with 47% of women dying within 5 years and 36% men after a heart attack (Harvard Health Publishing, 2016)

Look for the signs and dial 000 if in doubt.
