Ocean Stars Remembrance Day service, honouring the men and women who served and sacrificed for our country.
Despite the hot and windy weather, our residents helped create a heartfelt and dignified ceremony.
• Gus laid the wreath
• Kevin raised the flags
• Tony read the ODE and helped assemble poppies
• Marleen delivered a moving reading of In Flanders Fields
• Our floral arranging group prepared rosemary bunches and beautiful table displays. Flowers donated by Emma Kent.
We thank our residents and staff for their contributions to such a meaningful occasion.

Last week, our residents at Archbishop Goody Residential Care teamed up once again with the wonderful students from Carson Street Primary School — this time for a lively quiz and newspaper race game!

There was plenty of laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition as everyone joined in the fun.

We love seeing the smiles these intergenerational activities bring — thank you, Carson Street Primary, for another joyful visit!

This week, Catholic Homes marked an incredible milestone, 60 years of caring for Western Australians with love, joy, hospitality and excellence.

A special Anniversary Mass was held at Castledare Village on Tuesday, 11 November, with Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB, Bishop George Kolodziej SDS, and Bishop Don Sproxton joining residents, staff, volunteers and guests in thanksgiving.

Following the Mass, guests gathered at Castledare Community Centre for morning tea and reflections on our rich history, from our beginnings in 1965 as Catholic Cottages for the Aged to the vibrant organisation we are today.

What an inspiring milestone! Today, we honour Ian Goyder, from Trinity Village, who for 45 years has generously served as a Justice of the Peace, reflecting a lifetime of commitment to community.

Halloween fun at Archbishop Goody Residential Care! 👻

We were delighted to welcome students from Carson Street Primary School for some trick-or-treating fun last week!

Our residents absolutely loved the visit, there were plenty of smiles, laughter, and a few cheeky scares along the way. It’s always so special to see the joy that these intergenerational connections bring.

A big thank you to Carson Street Primary for making the day so memorable — we can’t wait to see you again soon!

Our Ocean Star residents had a wild time! We recently enjoyed a special bus excursion to another facility that hosted an animal and reptile educational talk. Residents got hands-on with all sorts of creatures, from tiny newborn chicks to snakes, lizards, rats, birds, and even dingoes!

It was a morning full of smiles, laughter, and plenty of excitement, and they couldn’t stop talking about it all afternoon!
