This week I've been really listening to my body about the food I eat, when I eat it and how much.
I think this is called intuitive eating?!?!
But for me it's a nice way to connect to my food, remember that I get so much more than just sustenance + calories from it.
I get connection, laughter, comfort, nostalgia + a gateway to so much more.

By saying no to my should's, dropping expectation and tuning into my body I've felt so much more energy & enjoyment from an act we all do daily (and a lot less discomfort).

Thankyou.

Thankyou to all the people who have entered my life, past present and future, that have helped me get here today.

Thanks to my family, for encouraging my passions, supporting my study & all the moves I made to follow the path I wanted.
Thanks to my sister, my best friend.

Thanks to my friends, that have understood I've been a bit absent recently & haven't been good at replying to messages, but have given me nothing but encouragement and honest advice when it all felt a little too much. For all wild nights and fun days we've shared along the way, you've shaped the person I've become.

Thanks to my past lecturers, workshop leaders and educators from around the world that have inspired me to want to learn more and more and more - to become the chiropractor I am today.

Thanks to Alex, I wouldn't have gotten here without you and appreciate all I've learnt with your help in such a short space of time.

Thanks to my patients - all the laughter, tears, confusion and BOOM moments. To the people I have helped (or not) and those I am yet to meet - YOU are the reason I do this.

Thanks to my work colleagues, coaches, acupuncturist, myopractor, masseuse and more. Your support for my physical, chemical and emotional health is unbeatable and inspires me to grow even more as a human.

Most importantly thanks to Grove. My rock. My safe harbour. My painter (sorry). My ideas man. My ear to vent to, shoulder to cry on. My biggest cheerleader. You pick me off the floor when I'm down, have forgiven my stressful outburst, made me laugh, smile and slow the f**k down. You've helped more than you could ever know.

Thanks to past Kat. I know you knew all the late nights/early mornings, tears and growth moments would be worth it - but I wish I could tell you how much.

Opening a chiropractic clinic has been a dream of mine since I was young.
So thank-you to everyone that has made this journey the wild ride it's been.

I love sharing guided meditations, to offer people a way to connect to themselves.
To train that focus muscle, to anchor them into the pure present moment.

While a lot of people dont think they are "good" at meditating, being in the moment can be different for everyone.

For some people they need that total silence, others can’t deal with the quiet and need some music to guide them inwards.
Maybe you love guided meditations, breath work, yoga nidra.
For others its running, or swimming, or really getting into a gym session

Some days (most days), one of my favourite moments is inhaling deeply before I sip my tea.

That’s the best meditation. The one you don’t have to try to do but brings the most ease.
To get us out of our monkey mind and into the present, even for just a second. That brings peace.

That's why we 'practice' meditation. So that noticing the little things about the moment becomes easier - how it feels to scratch your dogs head, smell a bunch of roses or embrace a loved one. To really take in each moments richness and appreciate all it has to offer.

Like the sun setting every day, sometimes the end brings the most beauty.

For although ending something, letting go, moving on - whatever it feels like for you - can feel really hard, there is magic in death.

Magic in the rebirth that follows.

So much possibility in the space that is created.

As I sat in a state of bliss after a wonderful sound healing experience last night (a million thanks again to ) I pulled the Shiva Oracle card.
Ok universe I'm listening 😜

Time to celebrate change, in not being the person I was even 1yr ago. Time to destroy those old stories but let my destructive tendencies have their place in what they've created. Time to rebuild and step out and shine.

Whatever Easter is for you - a holiday break, family orientated, religious or just a day to indulge - for me this year I'm remembering the beauty in the rebirth.

What are you learning today?

Our nervous system behaves like a computer that automatically upgrades - it adapts & recovers from new demands, each time building on a previous experience.

Every experience has the ability to reinforce something you already knew, or begin to change your brain.

This is great as it means nothing it set in stone, our bodies can change & adapt to the environment they're placed in.

And healing is really just your body or mind going through a change, a rebalance.

So what are you teaching your body with the things you are doing?

And what are you teaching your mind with the thoughts you're thinking?

Learning something new can feel awkward, uncomfortable, hard, and strange at first - but the more you learn the more you KNOW.

The more you know, the easier it is to trust.

That'll all be ok, that it's all ok now, even if it doesn't always feel it.

Why do we feel we have never done enough?
That there is always more to do, a space to fill or time to take up.
As if just being wasn't ok.

Always questioning ourselves - was that right? Or this one?
When there is no wrong. No wrong choice or wrong action.

When you're doing a lot, and feel you should be doing more then ask...
What space am I trying to fill?
Why am I not ok with what I have already done?
Who I'm I trying to prove myself to?
Why do I need more? More effort/hustle/struggle? Even more peace/joy?
Why am I not happy with what is?

Then can you let it be.

Ask what do you REALLY want - is it something different?
Is it nothing? Is it something your afraid to of? Like saying no? Or complain? Or hide and cry?

Other people will only questions your decisions and actions if you are unsure yourself.

Everything you do is always enough.

It's not the big things we do, but our small daily habits that set the tone for our lives.

I used to have a pretty structured morning routine, but after finishing the year exhausted I dropped all of it. Did absolutely nothing. I needed the break but pretty soon noticed how lost and scattered I was.

After my little reset I have been called back into so many things had felt like obligations at the end of the year.

I have remembered the things I love, the little things that really add joy.

But it all depends on how I feel that day.

Routine? The only thing that's consistent is the CHECK IN. So today like all days I checked in and asked - What can I do to support ME today?

Having the beach so close now is a blessing. But so are all the other habits I've cultivated over the years. Meditation, exercise, yoga, walking, journaling.

Always something to energise my body, mind and soul - for this moment, for now.

Now my morning routine looks different almost every day, but I always commit to it to set me up for the rest of the day

ALIGNMENT
As a chiro I use this word a lot, but being "aligned" can mean SO many things

Aligned in our body
Aligned with our values
Aligned in our thoughts
Aligned with the moon
Aligned in our hearts
Aligned with your truth.

Whatever you feel most aligned with, I'll bet it's when you're not aligned that it hits you hard (and you feel like this owl).

We have to know what we are not, to know what we are.

Recently I've been feeling like this owl at the thought of posting on social media. Nothing felt right. Nothing felt aligned.

But I was also pretty out of whack in many other areas of my life, so I listened. To them all. Body, mind and soul.

And slowly but surely, I did what I needed to do to re-align. To re-balance. To find my truth.

I'll only share what feels true to me. If it doesn't resonate with you that's cool.
But my hope is maybe it'll remind you of your truth, and offer a path to feel more aligned.
