The Harmony Way

The Harmony Way I provide individualised, one-on-one, personalised therapy and support for children and teens with behavioural and/or developmental disabilities.

I am a 40 year old female, born in Canada, moved to Australia in 2013. I am a proud Mum to two little girls. I love anything active, outdoors, or creative (like painting). I have worked with children since 2002, from ages 2 to 15 years old, and helped them in many areas of their development as a teacher, Educational Assistant, ABA therapist, Behavioural therapist and support worker. I have a strong, innate connection to children, and am very passionate about what I do.

Hello all followers of my page! I have done a rebrand on my company! It is now The Harmony Way. I am providing my knowledge and passion of supporting and conducting therapy, to children and youth, who have a behavioural and/or developmental disability.
I am so grateful to have my own business, be a proud Mum to my two little girls, and also create my own hours of work.

Here is to a successful launch of The Harmony Way.

Wanted to update all my page followers and potential new clients. So I am expecting my second baby in January! Very happy and excited to add to my family. Just means I will have to take a step back from promoting and growing my business until I can put my all into it again. I will be finding and training a replacement for me while I am on mat leave. Although I need to push pause on this company I have created, I know how passionate and invested I am into what I do and cannot wait to further grow Harmony ABA!

Thank you all for going on this journey with me. I so appreciate all the love and support.

Watched this episode of “You Can’t Ask That” on ABC iview on Autism. It gave me a lot of insight and new perspectives of people with Autism. I highly recommend watching it as well!
My biggest takeaway was the word Monotropism. “Monotropism is a cognitive strategy posited to be the central underlying feature of autism. A monotropic mind is one that focuses its attention on a small number of interests at any time, tending to miss things outside of this attention tunnel."

Great visual to help explain more what exactly Applied Behaviour Analysis is.

With all that is changing in our day to day life recently, I have made some changes to the way I can continue to help out my clients. I will be providing online zoom video sessions to teach parents how to provide their children with ABA therapy. This way they can keep programs rolling during these isolating times, and get feedback and help whenever they need from me.
Sending you all strength and support during these challenging times.

Welcome to the launch of my new business page! It will hopefully grow as the word gets out. Help spread the word if you know of anyone who may have a child with Autism that could benefit from early intervention.

Specialised Therapy for Children on the Autism Spectrum

I provide individualised, one-on-one, ABA intervention programs in the convenience of the client's home or other setting of their choosing. I will observe and assess each child's skills and needs, while working in collaboration with the family and other members of the child's team.

The programs will be detailed, regularly reviewed and adjusted. Additionally, they will target goals in every area of development such as communication, behaviour, social and daily living skills. The programs are adaptive and enable the child to be independent and successful.

My learning methodology is centred on the holistic development of the child's breadth of knowledge, both in academics and in real-world scenarios using traditional, creative, and hands-on approaches. Within every session, data will be collected on each target in the child's program. This data will be regularly analysed to determine the success of each target and track the child's progress.
