๐Ÿšฒ โ€œThe bicycle โ€” a slow death for the planet.โ€

Thatโ€™s what a banker once said, making economists pause for a moment.

โ€œA cyclist is a disaster for the economy,โ€ he explained.
โ€œHe doesnโ€™t buy a car or take out loans to pay for it.
He doesnโ€™t pay for car insurance.
He doesnโ€™t buy fuel.
He doesnโ€™t use paid parking or expensive repairs.
He doesnโ€™t cause major accidents.
He doesnโ€™t need highways built just for him.
And worst of all โ€” he stays healthy.

Healthy people donโ€™t buy as many medicines.
They rarely visit hospitals.
They donโ€™t contribute to the GDP through sickness.โ€

Meanwhile, every new McDonaldโ€™s creates:
๐Ÿ” 30 jobs, including
๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธ 10 cardiologists,
๐Ÿฆท 10 dentists,
๐Ÿฅค 10 nutritionists,
โ€ฆand of course, the staff who serve the food.

So โ€” choose wisely:

Sometimes, the things that are โ€œbadโ€ for the economy are exactly whatโ€™s good for the planet โ€” and for us. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š

This is a brilliant book, it's is long and some may find challenging, but I talk to nearly all of my clients about this.

If you have pain in your body, have had any kind of surgery or am just not sure why your pain won't go away or body settle down, you need to read or listen to this book.

Open your mind and explore alternatives.

Not many people talk about the after effects of surgery..... read this and share it to help people understand they aren't imagining things, the body takes time to re- organise itself.

Post-operative delirium (POD) in older individuals is an acute, fluctuating disturbance in attention and cognition that often develops shortly after surgery and anesthesia.

It's characterized by problems with focus, awareness, and thinking, which can range from hypoactive (quiet and withdrawn) to hyperactive (agitated and confused) states, significantly increasing morbidity and mortality in this population.

POD is quite common, affecting an estimated 10% to 50% of older adults following major surgery, depending on the patient's health status, the complexity of the procedure, and the specific assessment methods used.

A randomized controlled clinical trial evaluated the effects of inhaling peppermint EO on POD in older adults after surgery.

The peppermint group inhaled one drop from a cotton pad soaked with 2 mL of 2% peppermint EO that was placed near his or her nose for 10 minutes the night before the surgery, prior to receiving anesthesia, and while in the post-anesthesia care unit.

The control group inhaled saline from a cotton pad in the same manner.

The peppermint EO group experienced significantly lower POD incidence within the three days following surgery.

The peppermint group also reported reduced pain and anxiety scores as a side benefit.

These findings suggest peppermint EO inhalation is an effective way to reduce POD and improve surgical outcomes in older adults.

Do you know what makes me feel sad ๐Ÿ˜”?

When I hear someone in their 80's tell me that their blood pressure just won't come down and the general practitioner can't work out why the extra half a tablet won't work and then they tell me that this is just how it is and as 'I get older it will just keep going up I guess'

The other thing is knowing that this marker is like the engine warning light in your car and is always an indication of something else going on.

Please encourage your General practitioner to either embrace you visiting with a friend who is a natural health practitioner and start working together OR find another General practitioner who will.

To think the General practitioners at this Busselton clinic refuse to let me go in with our mutual client is ridiculous.

We have a common goal, we can work together. Just because I choose not to be registered with the AMA or Ahpra doesn't make me any less qualified to support people in getting well ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ its time to grow up and focus on the common goal - helping humans heal.

This week for me is strong bone week.

In my space and for everyone I am working with it is ๐Ÿ˜

Did you know that your bones can be supported and strengthened with stretching? The kind of stretching that does this can be very intense and something you may want to do with a professional who understands what happens to your body over time.

Bones are also impacted by the foods and drinks you consume (or don't), the medications you take and the supplements you take aswell.

Do you realise that calcium supplementation (injected or swallowed) may actually drift around in your blood stream and not actually support your bone health?

Do you know that popular medications can work against the absorption of nutrients into the body and lead to extra joint pain and muscle wastage?

Have you seen the research that has been done linking the consumption of certain foods with deep connective tissue repair and understqnd what the gut brain axis is?
