Please read and sign - more needs to be done to reduce family and domestic violence in WA

WA’s domestic violence rates are among the worst in the country. Our women and children are being left unsafe every single day.

That’s why today I alongside local Karridale woman Michelle Mathey have launched a petition calling for an inquiry into family and domestic violence, demanding stronger reform and much needed protections.

Recently, Basil Zempilas, Hon. Michelle Boylan MLC and I joined a roundtable with a range of local mental health stakeholders from across the community at Lamp Inc in Busselton.

This included Radiance Network South West, MenAble INC, South West Counselling, Oseca, Youth Focus, Pathways Southwest, The Swan Centre and the wonderful psychologists from across the region. Their work promotes wellbeing, dignity and independence for people living with mental illness, as well as their families and communities across the South West.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to listen and learn from those on the frontline, and I want to acknowledge the difference our mental health network continues to make in supporting West Australians every day.
