A Fond Farewell to Two of Our Wonderful Doctors

It’s with mixed emotions that we share some news with our valued patients. Two of our much-loved doctors, Dr Alan Lim and Dr David Lynch will be leaving Busselton in the new year to pursue new opportunities.

They’ve been an important part of our practice and their care and kindness have meant so much to both our team and our patients. We’ll truly miss them here and we know many of you will too.

Please join us in wishing them all the best in their next chapters. We know they will continue to make a positive impact wherever they go.

🌼Spring is Here — and So is Hayfever! 🌼

As the warmer weather arrives in Busselton, many of us are feeling the less joyful side of spring: hayfever.

Hayfever affects nearly 1 in 4 Australians and can cause sneezing, itchy eyes, runny noses, and fatigue. Not only is it a nuisance but it can also worsen asthma, disrupt sleep and impact your daily life.

Tips to manage hayfever this season:
✅ Check daily pollen counts and stay indoors on high-pollen days
✅ Keep windows closed and shower after outdoor activities
✅ Use antihistamines or nasal sprays as recommended
✅ Talk to your GP about long-term options like immunotherapy

Why we will not be bulk billing every appointment from November 1st……

At Geographe Bay GP, we remain committed to providing thorough, personal and high quality medical care.

We understand that the cost of healthcare can be challenging but for us to remain financially viable (pay our wonderful staff, rent, insurances etc) we will remain a mixed billing practice.

If we were to transition to a fully bulk billing model, we would need to adopt a “6-minute medicine” style of care with rapid, lower-quality consults. This is not the type of medicine we believe in, nor the care you deserve.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support. We truly appreciate you valuing the time, care and experience that go into looking after your health 🩺

👩‍⚕️ Meet Dr Smith

Kate is one of our wonderful GP's here at Geographe Bay General Practice. She’s in the final stages of her training and will soon be a fully fellowed GP 🎉

We’re so lucky to have Dr Smith on our team and with her warm, down-to-earth approach she makes it easy for kids (and parents!) to feel comfortable in her care.

Outside of medicine, she’s an animal lover with a fun history — she once owned a pet rat and more recently the "cat distribution system" brought Minnie 🐈 into her life.
