One of my favourite things to do, is to go to the beach 🏝
Today was first time in five weeks since I had been/seen the beach.
Anyone who knows me well, knows that I function much better when I am around the beach/ocean 🌊
To me there is just something calming and soothing about it and all the ions seem to help boost my mental health - I feel more positive, clear and focused.

Today it felt great to just kick of the shoes and walk barefoot along the beach and naturally reconnect with the earth.
This is what we call grounding 🌏
Now days a lot of us don’t get out nearly enough in nature and we dont have that skin to ground/earth contact.
By getting out in nature and having more of that contact it can do wonders for our mental, emotional physical and spiritual health.
According to emerging research , grounding can be very beneficial for many things, for example
* Improving your mood - helps reduce stress, anxiety, depression
* Improving your sleep
* Improving immune function
* Reducing inflammation & chronic pain
* Boosting energy
* Regulating blood pressure and blood flow
* Relieving muscle tension

If you are not currently getting out and grounding yourself I urge you to get out there and try it.
Simply make some time every day to do it - even if it’s only for 5 minutes.
Kick off your shoes, socks and get outdoors.
Stand, Walk, Sit barefoot in nature - Simply on your lawn OR at the beach on the sand/in the water OR on the dirt OR even on stones.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised that something so simple can make you feel amazing. You will feel reconnected and more alive πŸ’«

GRATITUDE πŸ’ž (see challenge at end of post)

Today I am grateful for all the blessings in my life 🧚
I am grateful for all the bonding time and the memories made with lee and Peyton whilst being in isolation - Every cloud has a silver lining β˜€οΈ
Today I am grateful for finally being able to leave my house after isolation, to take the dog for 2 walks - we have one very happy dog now ☺️

Gratitude is ......
stopping and taking a moment to just appreciate all the good in our lives - the things we often take for granted
Examples - having a place to live, having food , clean water, friends, family, technology.
Gratitude is important to practice and can be very valuable especially when we are going through tough times , when s**t feels very overwhelming.
Taking time to reflect on the good things can show us just how blessed we are.

How does it work?
Gratitude is very good for our brain
When we express gratitude and receive the same, our brain releases dopamine and serotonin, the two crucial neurotransmitters responsible for our emotions, and they make us feel β€˜good’. They enhance our mood immediately, making us feel happy from the inside.
The more you practice gratitude the better you feel mentally .

Did you know it takes at least 21 days to form a new habit.
