Yummy foam roller (slow) flow from the weekend ☁️

Intention : slow and effortless movement

slide 1 ⋮ sub occipital release
slide 2 ⋮ thoracic mobilisations
slide 3 ⋮ supine rotations
slide 4 ⋮ quadruped sit back
slide 5 ⋮ horse stance
slide 6 ⋮ bear hold
slide 7 ⋮ transition from bear to split stance
slide 8 ⋮ split stance squats and pulses
slide 9 ⋮ single leg arabesque balance flow

Why slowing down matters?

Slowing down deepens awareness and connection.

It can ease stress and tension, allowing the body to recover.

Slowing down activates the parasympathetic nervous system :
— activates the state of rest & digest
— lowers heart rate and stress hormones
— calms the mind & body

What happens when you slow down?

— your breath expands and deepens
(hello intra - abdominal pressure)
— your fascia and muscles relax
— your mind eases
— your body feels safe and trusts

Your body isn’t inconsistent. It’s responding to the natural rhythm and cycles of life 𓂃𓈒

Some days feel expansive, others softer, slower.

Energy rises and falls.

In a world that rewards constant output — there’s something quietly powerful when you honour your unique needs and move at your own pace 🕊️

A recent revelation I had with one of my mentors Jo was understanding how we can easily get stuck in our own stories, in our heads.

Intellectualising…

Analysing…

Bypassing our emotions where we can become consumed and stuck in loops, instead of observing and being present with ourselves — holding space for the part that is needing attention.

Personally for me, I have a strong mind, so my automatic response is to be in my head. Try to understand, for it to make sense, to try and logically solve the problem and fix it —to be in a masculine state of “doing”

To shift from intellectualising everything —to simply BEING more present with myself. This is a continuous practice.

Returning to the body always helps me drop back into my heart space and out of my head —to reconnect back into my feminine flow.

Thank you Inger for such a potent weekend diving deep into learning exercise 1 in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stability and developmental kinesiology.

We explored how to rewire the nervous system to activate inner stability, improve breathing mechanics and diaphragm function to optimise movement and rehabilitation — I feel like I’ve only dipped my toe in… excited to unlock more of this incredible modality 💭

Welcome to the new space in Kingscliff 𓂃𓈒

I’m feeling so grateful to be able to work in this beautiful location and to get the opportunity to hold space for those in need.

If you’re feeling called to create more spaciousness during this busier time of year, book yourself in for some deep rest - your body and nervous system will soften and thank you for it 🤍🕯️

Your hips hold more than movement — they hold your history, stories, emotions and power.

The hips are often misunderstood, associated mostly with stretching exercises, flexibility goals, or pushing through workouts and rushing through life.

But when we shift the focus from performance to presence, the hips reveal themselves as gateways to freedom, sensuality and grounded strength.

Meet Kelly, The Founder 𓂃 𓈒

For years, Kelly was immersed in a world of conventional hustle culture whilst working in the yachting and wellness industries —at times she felt disconnected and something always felt absent. The deeper layers. The ritualistic intention. The integrity. The soul...She didn’t want to just treat clients in fast paced, clinical and stagnant environments; she wanted to create space for remembrance, for reconnection, a sanctuary for unravelling into softness, safety, and inner harmony.

Merak Wellness was born from that desire —a sacred meeting point of integrating the body, mind and spirit. A place where holistic health and beauty rituals become ceremony, and every offering is created with deep reverence for each clients unique essence.
