First Fire Dance Performance in Australia 🔥🌟

A few months ago (November 2024), I had the honor of performing my very first Fire Show in Mission Beach, QLD, and it was truly something special.

Funny thing is, this all started as a simple hobby in January 2018 when I gifted myself a hula hoop for the holidays. I began learning hula hooping through YouTube watching Deanne Love’s tutorials and it felt so natural, nothing forced. What began as play slowly grew into meeting hoopers as I was traveling and then the hula hoop community in Barcelona which led to performing, which eventually opened the door to teaching.

Ten years ago, I never would have imagined myself doing anything circus related, let alone performing in front of people. My background is in Athletic Training, similar to sports physical therapy, but I realized I didn’t want to work only with athletes. I wanted to create spaces that include everyone, no matter their age or ability. That’s how Spiral Flow Experience was born.

So while most of my photos are from community classes with kids, adults, and even the elderly, it all really started with a hoop, a spark of curiosity, and a love for movement.

Grateful for the synchronicity, the support, and the beautiful energy of that night.

✨ Circus Fun for Seniors 🎪

Who says staying active has to be boring? Our seniors are discovering the joy of circus-inspired activities that are not only fun but also amazing for the body and mind! 🌟

From modified juggling and hula hooping to silk fans, juggling scarves, and balancing exercises, each activity is designed to improve:
💪 Strength & Range of Motion
🧠 Brain Function & Hand-Eye Coordination
⚖️ Balance & Stability
🤝 Social Connection & Teamwork

These exercises can be done alone, with a partner, or in a group, making movement playful, engaging, and therapeutic!

Watching our seniors light up with laughter and confidence is pure magic. ✨

Throwback to 2020 with friends practicing a hula hoop choreography from .of.hooping in Barcelona ✨ Such beautiful memories, and it’s incredible to reflect on how much my hula hoop journey has grown since then. From simply enjoying the flow to now teaching and sharing this passion with others! It’s been a truly rewarding adventure. 💖 Grateful for the journey and for the chance to inspire others to explore their own flow! 🌈💫
