The team at Leaps and Bounds Disability Services were so thrilled to receive support through Variety - the Children's Charity of Queensland ❤️. With their support, we were able to provide a bundle of toys to bring some Christmas cheer to a beautiful family. ❤️❤️

What a year it’s been…and what a month! This December alone, we have been able to present 14 kids with brand new bikes and offer 1,036 presents to over 1,000 families!

For this we have some organisations to thank including Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland, Leaps and Bounds Disability Services, the Children's Hospital Foundation, Yoorana Women’s Domestic Violence & Resource Service, CB Ink Tattoo Brisbane and the Queensland Police Service for helping get gifts out to those kids who need them most via the Commissioner’s Gift Drive.

✨ Our Cheeky Elf Is Hard at Work! ✨

Today at Leaps and Bounds Disability Clinic, our mischievous little elf traded in his holiday antics for some fine-motor fun! From grasping tiny tools to practicing careful pinches and placements, he’s building big skills with his little hands.

He even had a go at buttoning up his teeny tiny shirt — a tricky task when you're elf-sized! But with lots of focus (and a few giggles), he gave those buttons his best shot. 🎄🧵

Supporting fine motor skill development is one of our key goals for the clients we work with, and even our elf is joining in on the practice!

Our little clients are also having a wonderful time discovering these cheeky elves around the clinic!

Good morning Leaps and Bounds Families!

We would like to advise that our clinic will be closed from today, 5th December 2025 and will reopen on Monday 8th December 2025.

During this short pause, our team is taking a moment to celebrate an incredible year filled with care, growth, and the joy of supporting our wonderful clients. 💕

We’re also heading off on a little team adventure — we are ready to test our survivor skills and make a few unforgettable memories along the way! 🏕️🔥

Today we celebrate our wonderful Practice Manager, Chris, as she finishes her final day with Leaps and Bounds and begins an exciting new chapter.

Chris has been an integral part of our team—bringing care, compassion, exceptional customer service, and unwavering support to our staff, our families, and the clients we are so lucky to work with. Her kindness and dedication have shaped our clinic in the most beautiful ways.

As Chris heads into semi-retirement and moves to the stunning coastal part of Queensland, we wish her nothing but joy, peace, and adventure on this next journey.

Chris, thank you for everything.!

Following George's lead! 🛠️🔩🛠️

In his speech therapy session with Speechie Marley, nuts, bolts, and screws were used to connect with George’s favourite interests. When activities reflect what he enjoys, his motivation rises, his engagement deepens, and his communication becomes more purposeful.

This is a clear example of child‑led learning. Using nuts and bolts supported his regulation, boosted his motivation, and created natural opportunities to practice requesting help on his communication device.

When therapy aligns with a child’s interests, meaningful communication thrives!!

🌟 Café Adventures with Axel! 🌟

Axel joined his mum and speechie, Sarah for a little foodie exploration at our local café ☕🍽️

Axel spent the morning trying new flavours and checking out some safe-swallowing options to support his mealtime confidence – a great reminder that sessions don’t need to be clinical.

Axel gave everything a good go with his trademark curiosity and big smiles — proud of this little legend for being so brave and open to new experiences! 💛✨

The Sensory Co is bringing their beautiful, interactive sensory play sessions to North Lakes — just in time for the festive season! 🌟

Designed especially for children aged 0–5 years, these upcoming Christmas-themed sessions offer a magical blend of textures, colours, sounds, and festive fun. It’s a joyful experience that encourages curiosity and creativity through sensory-based play.

💬 Families have shared fantastic feedback about these sessions — a wonderful way to engage little ones in meaningful play. We received such amazing stories; we had to share with our wonderful Leaps and Bounds families.

Whether it’s building routines, fostering independence, or unlocking new possibilities, they bring warmth, wisdom, and a whole lot of love to every step of the journey 💫
