The Clinic will be closed from Friday 3rd April and will reopen on Tuesday, 7th April.

We’re celebrating some wonderful news at Leaps and Bounds Disability Services!

Our incredible Speech Pathologist and Behaviour Support Practitioner, Sarah, has recently stepped into the role of Lead Clinician — a milestone we are overjoyed to celebrate!

Even more special, Sarah is also marking her 5-year anniversary with Leaps and Bounds Disability Services, a testament to her unwavering dedication, compassion, and impact within our community.

Sarah brings extraordinary passion and expertise to every client she supports. She is deeply committed to helping individuals with behaviours of concern, mealtimes, feeding, and swallowing, AAC, and Motor Speech Disorders—including Childhood Apraxia of Speech.

She is a true powerhouse: a tireless advocate, a creative problem solver, and someone who will always go the extra mile to ensure her clients’ needs are heard and met.

One of the things we admire most is how much she loves getting out into the community with her clients, helping them build confidence and achieve their goals in real world settings.

Please join us in congratulating Sarah on this well-deserved achievement!

Ahead of Valentine’s Day, the team at Leaps and Bounds took a moment to share the love — and what better way to celebrate than with a special lunch together!

It was a lovely opportunity to pause, connect, and enjoy some well-deserved treats as a team. Moments like these remind us that appreciation, kindness, and a little indulgence go a long way in bringing everyone closer together. 💕

Paediatric Assistive Technology – Now Taking New Clients!

The Physiotherapy team at Leaps and Bounds Disability Services currently has capacity to take on two paediatric clients requiring assistive technology support.

Assistive technology plays a vital role in supporting children’s participation, independence, comfort, and safety at home, school, and in the community. The right equipment can make a meaningful difference to a child’s mobility, posture, and overall quality of life.

Our physios can assist with:

• Wheelchairs
• Standers
• Strollers
• Seating systems

🎉 The Queensland Government’s Play On! Sports Vouchers (formerly FairPlay) are now open!!

This is providing eligible families $200 per child aged 5–17 to help cover the cost of sport and active recreation, including club memberships, registration fees, and participation programs.

With one voucher available per eligible child each financial year, this is a great chance to get kids active, confident, and connected through local clubs and activities.

The team at Leaps and Bounds Disability Services were so thrilled to receive support through Variety - the Children's Charity of Queensland ❤️. With their support, we were able to provide a bundle of toys to bring some Christmas cheer to a beautiful family. ❤️❤️

What a year it’s been…and what a month! This December alone, we have been able to present 14 kids with brand new bikes and offer 1,036 presents to over 1,000 families!

For this we have some organisations to thank including Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland, Leaps and Bounds Disability Services, the Children's Hospital Foundation, Yoorana Women’s Domestic Violence & Resource Service, CB Ink Tattoo Brisbane and the Queensland Police Service for helping get gifts out to those kids who need them most via the Commissioner’s Gift Drive.

THANK YOU for helping Variety create a future without limits for so many Queensland kids!

✨ Our Cheeky Elf Is Hard at Work! ✨

Today at Leaps and Bounds Disability Clinic, our mischievous little elf traded in his holiday antics for some fine-motor fun! From grasping tiny tools to practicing careful pinches and placements, he’s building big skills with his little hands.

He even had a go at buttoning up his teeny tiny shirt — a tricky task when you're elf-sized! But with lots of focus (and a few giggles), he gave those buttons his best shot. 🎄🧵

Supporting fine motor skill development is one of our key goals for the clients we work with, and even our elf is joining in on the practice!

Our little clients are also having a wonderful time discovering these cheeky elves around the clinic!
