Better Together Assoc Inc is a mental health/disability/community organisation designed to develop a more inclusive Moreton Bay Region and contribute to the overall strength and well being of the community by developing and maintaining a wide range of strategies, partnerships and affiliations to promote, support and maintain meaningful valued roles and relationships for people with a mental health issues and or disability in the social, economic and civic life of the Morton Bay Region. believes that although there are many different experiences of inclusion in valued community roles and relationships, there are common elements that contribute to making people feel included. These include:

Feeling like you belong
Being missed if you are not there

Better Together Assoc Inc is a NDIS registered service provider. Better Together also receives funding from the QLD Department of Employment Small Business and Training to undertake a Skilling Queenslanders for work program, supporting people into employment . Better Together Assoc Inc acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land we’re on today, and acknowledge our gratitude that we share this land today, our sorrow for some of the costs of that sharing, and our hope and belief that we can move to a place of equity, justice and partnership together.

Congratulations to our newest graduates! 🎓

A big congratulations to the latest group who have successfully completed our 24-week Hospitality Traineeship, delivered through the Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) initiative, funded by the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET).

We’re incredibly proud of the dedication, growth and resilience shown by every trainee throughout the program. Reaching graduation after six months of learning, practical training and personal development is a fantastic achievement.

Many people often ask us to share more about the work happening across our programs. One of our goals for 2026 is to do exactly that — giving more insight into the different streams of support we provide and celebrating the journeys of the people involved.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the graduation such a special event — from staff and supporters to our wider community and stakeholders.

We're excited to have commenced interviews today for shortlisted candidates for our upcoming Better Ventures Program, proudly supporting 13 participants through Skilling Queenslanders for Work to complete a Certificate I in Hospitality over 24 weeks.

If you are interested, there is still time to apply! Interviews will continue through to early March for our 16 March intake.

UPDATE: Following the latest advice from the Bureau of Meteorology, our places of refuge are now closed. The threat of heavy rainfall has passed.

With heavy rainfall on the way, our City of Moreton Bay libraries are now open as Places of Refuge.

Over the coming days, some parts of Moreton Bay may experience flash flooding. If you live in a low‑lying or flood‑prone area, be ready to leave early and stay with friends or family.

Our Places of Refuge give you a safe, supportive space to charge your devices, rest somewhere comfortable, and chat with volunteers who can help with information and resources.

Better Together is excited to announce the next intake of our Hospitality Traineeship is now open for applications!

This 24-week paid traineeship combines hands-on experience in a real café, commercial kitchen & function space with nationally recognised training. You’ll gain practical skills, industry certifications, and personalised mentoring – all while getting paid to learn.

▸In addition to Certificate I in Hospitality:
- Responsible Service of Alcohol & Gambling (SITHFAB021 & SITHGAM022)
- Barista Certificate (SITHFAB025)
- Blue Card & Yellow Card
- NDIS Worker Orientation Training
- Food Safety Training
- Mental Health First Aid Training

We go further than training – you’ll receive 1:1 mentoring, job readiness workshops, industry & interview clothing, and more!

This is a full-time traineeship, Monday to Friday based in Caboolture. We are located on Toovey Street, Caboolture (next to Reclink and Spider's Boxing).

📣 Intake begins Monday 16th March 2026 - apply now! Only 13 positions available.

We’re currently seeking expressions of interest from local, licensed security camera installers to provide indicative quotes for the upgrade and expansion of an existing CCTV (security camera) system at a community venue.

An existing CCTV system is already in place, and we’re looking to modernise the setup and install additional cameras, subject to approval.

As our organisation is located on council-owned property, all works are subject to council approval and compliance requirements. Experience with council or government sites is highly regarded.

At this stage, we’re gathering business details, relevant experience, and indicative pricing only, prior to progressing through formal approval channels.

Due to a scheduled power outage, the Better Together office/hub and Lagoon Creek Cafe at Toovey Street, Caboolture will be closed on Monday 1st December.

There will be no staff on site. However, Better Together services will still continue! Our team will be online and available throughout the day to help with any enquiries via phone or email.

Please note Lagoon Creek Café will not be operating. Kindly direct any enquiries via email.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and we truly appreciate everyone’s patience. With the recent weather events, we know how important strong, reliable power is for our community!

Lagoon Creek Café have been supporting Caboolture Community Action for the past 18 months to prepare nutritious meals to support those in need.

With the cost of living rising and the summer holidays approaching, the demand for assistance is growing. As such, we’re seeking food donations to help us continue preparing nutritious meals for those in need.

Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference and helps us keep this important work going.
