A Dream Beyond Boundaries – Support Shalom Rai - Launcheston Tasmania.
Himalayan Community Care Services is proud to support 13-year-old Shalom Rai, a talented young footballer from Launceston, Bhutanese by heritage, who is determined to seize an incredible opportunity to travel to West Ham, United Kingdom this year in November for professional football exposure.
Born in Launceston to parents who arrived in Australia through the Humanitarian Settlement Program, Shalom has been passionate about football since the age of five. With strong support from his father, Suman Rai, he has grown into a dedicated and hardworking athlete — earning scholarship from Launceston City Academy in 2022, winning numerous local trophies, and participating in football trials in both Launceston and the Gold Coast.
This opportunity could be a life-changing step toward his dream of becoming a professional footballer. However, the journey comes with significant costs, including travel, accommodation, and training expenses.
We warmly invite our friends, community members, supporters and well-wishers to stand behind Shalom. Every contribution — big or small — will help him take this important step and show that his community believes in him.
Together, let’s support a dream built on hope, resilience, and determination.

Thank you Bree James - Barron River MP for taking the time to meet with us and for the opportunity to share the work we are doing in the disability support sector.

We truly appreciate your support and recognition of HCCS and our broader vision through the Himalayan Organisation for Multicultural Communities Inc., HOMC. Initiatives like the Unity Cup mean a lot to us as they bring people together, celebrate multiculturalism, and strengthen community connection through sport.

We look forward to creating a positive impact together and continuing to support our diverse community.

It was great to meet with the team from Himalayan Community Care Services and discuss what they are doing in the disability support industry.
