Last Saturday, 24 January, we were grateful to join the Australia Day 2026 celebration hosted by the Refugee Communities Association of Australia (RCAA).
At HCCS, we work closely with people from refugee backgrounds, and many of our team members also bring lived refugee experiences. It was a great opportunity to connect with the community and celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of people from all backgrounds. We also enjoyed the beautiful cultural performances from the Bhutanese Nepalese and Cook Islands communities a truly uplifting and inclusive day for everyone involved.

Over the weekend, we were able to place 10 Himalayan Community Care Services corflutes across 10 different homes.
We would like to sincerely thank our friends, family, and community members for your continuous support and for allowing us to display our organisation’s corflutes in front of your homes. Your trust, and belief in what we do means a lot to us. Together, we are growing stronger and reaching more people in our community🙏

Celebrating Cairns 150 Years
Today, we had a wonderful cake cutting ceremony to kick off next years 150th Anniversary celebration. It was a wonderful way to come together as a community, honour the city’s rich history, and celebrate the vibrant Cairns we know today.

This milestone reminds us of the incredible people, places, and stories that have shaped our city over the past century and a half and inspires us as we look forward to the next 150 years.
So proud to be part of this historic celebration!
