At Nurturing Life Connections, we believe play is where connection and growth begin. It’s how children make sense of their world, develop life skills, and build relationships that help them thrive.

Play isn’t “just play” — it’s the foundation for learning emotionally, socially, physically, and cognitively. Here’s a look at some types of play and why they’re so important 👇

🎭 Dramatic Play

When children pretend to cook, fly, or care for a teddy, they’re building empathy, problem-solving, and communication skills — all while having fun!

🌈 Messy Play

Mud, paint, and sand may look chaotic, but they help children explore their senses, build coordination, and express emotions. Messy play is powerful for sensory learning and self-regulation.

🧩 Puzzles & Manipulative Play

From stacking cups to Lego, these activities develop fine motor skills, concentration, and early maths and language concepts.

📚 Stories & Books

Storytime strengthens connection and imagination. Reading together builds vocabulary, emotional understanding, and a lifelong love of learning.

🎲 Board Games

💛 See the World Through Their Eyes 💛

When we slow down and get down to a child’s level, something magical happens we enter their world.

A world filled with wonder, curiosity, and connection.

To a child, eye contact means “you see me.”
Sitting beside them means “you’re with me.”
Joining in their play means “what matters to me, matters to you.”

These small moments build trust, safety and belonging the foundations of every child’s growth.
When we see the world from their perspective, we learn just as much as they do. 🌿

We’re excited to share that Nurturing Life Connections is expanding to the Macedon Ranges and greater Melbourne surrounds from March 2026.

Our mission is to help children aged 0–12 build confidence, emotional regulation, and connection through meaningful play. As a Registered NDIS Provider, we deliver flexible, family-centred supports in the environments where children learn and grow, including schools, early learning centres, and community settings.

We’re now accepting referrals for children starting in March 2026.

We’re heading to the Cairns Disability EXPO!

On Tuesday the 19th of August 2025, our whole Nurturing Life Connections team will be at Raintrees Shopping Centre for the Cairns Disability EXPO – and we can’t wait to see you there.

We’ve prepared a unique sensory experience at our stall. You’ll need to put your senses to the test, and those who take part will have the chance to go in the draw for some exciting prizes. The details? You’ll have to visit us to find out.

A big thank you to the amazing volunteers from Cairns Disability Network for all the hard work they’ve put in to make this event possible.
