We are recognising World Cancer Day on the 4th of February and inviting people to join us on a walk to help

While we live in a time of awe-inspiring advancements in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, many of us who seek cancer care hit barriers at every turn. Income, education, geographical location, and discrimination based on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, and lifestyle are just a few factors that can negatively affect care.

So, this year’s World Cancer Day’s theme, “Close the Care Gap”, is all about raising awareness of this equity gap that affects almost everyone, in high as well as low and middle-income countries, and is costing lives.

Together individuals create change, so we invite you to join us as we walk up the Yellow Arrow track to recognise World Cancer Day and the battle that we continue to fight worldwide and celebrate the achievements that have been made to date.

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧: Friday the 4th of February, meet at Aeroglen car park at 7.00 am for a prompt start.
𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞: Walk up the Yellow Arrow walking track, followed by coffee at the botanical gardens. Do both or pick one.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: Water bottle, hat & money for a coffee, a friend

Please consider your exercise capabilities. This is a moderate 2.1 km inclined walk.

📢 Important COVID-19 update, effective from Monday the 13th of December.

All patients are to disclose their vaccination status prior to their appointment with Control Physiotherapy.

If you are unvaccinated, we are still able to see you for your appointment, however you are required to wear a mask at all times.

As per Queensland Health Guidelines, all of our staff are fully vaccinated.

Protocols will be updated in accordance with Queensland Government regulations and if the threat in the Cairns Region increases. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our team on 4242 5010.
