Meet Bruce Ferguson the founder of Power Broga

Bruce has been practicing power yoga for more than 15 years and teaching his own blend of power and vinyasa krama called Broga for the past three and a half years in Kiama on the south coast of NSW.

Bruce loves all types of yoga and knows well the extraordinary health benefits a regular yoga practice can bring to your life.

It is for this reason in 2018, Bruce completed his yoga teacher training with devotional teacher Rachel Noakes in Bulli NSW and since then has been creating a yoga practice he calls Broga, an accessible and dynamic vinyasa flow class for men, that focuses on breath control, core strength, body weight exercise, balance, stretching/mobility and meditation.

Developed to encourage men into the yoga space, Bruce's Broga classes focus less on complex balances and binds; and more on working within the scapular plane. Broga can of course be enjoyed by anyone, not just men and is a fantastic way to wake up the body, refresh the mind and start the day!

One day Bruce was stopped on the street by the wife of one of his first yoga students who told him "you have changed my husband's life; I can't thank you enough". It was in that instant Bruce knew this is what he was meant to do for the rest of his life.

Bruce moved to Cairns in far north Queensland in 2022 where he looks forward to continuing his yoga journey.

You can check out Bruce's yoga style right here on his page where he has saved 20 classes filmed during the 2020 lockdown, to keep his students practicing. Namaste

Power Broga

Power - is for Power Yoga Broga - is for Br-uce’s Y-oga or Bros’ Yoga

Bruce discovered the power of yoga in 2005, when he started attending classes at Surry Hills based studio Body Mind Life under the guidance of the incredible Nicole Walsh.

Always very active, Bruce discovered that regular sessions of power yoga had the same, and often even better physical and cardio fitness benefits than his previous schedule of weights and cross-fit training; with the added bonus of deepening his ability to breath, stretch, focus, and balance.

In 2018, Bruce decided to take his yoga practice to the next level and enrolled in a 200-hour yoga teacher training with Rachel Noakes at Ray of Light in Bulli. Through this transformational course, Bruce has built a new yoga practice that he hopes guys on the South Coast will love and see the same benefits that he has over the past 13 years.
