Are you delivering and billing SIL support to NDIS Participants and yet to secure NDIS registration? If so, you have precisely 72 days to arrange this, as come 1st July, 2026, Plan Managers will be required to withhold payment to unregistered SIL providers until they meet NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission minimum requirements.
With all the changes happening within this sector, we all need to be vigilant in our knowledge and understanding of changing guidelines and compliance.
Here's some extra links that might help right now:
- The Hon. Mark Butler MP, Minister for NDIS will address the National press Club this Wednesday at 11.30am. LINK here: https://npc.org.au/events/the-hon-mark-butler-mp-2
- The revised PAPL is scheduled to be released over the coming few weeks and I think we can expect some further clarity around use of codes and definitions at very least.
- The Agency is releasing a new Guide to Plan Management which is a provider-facing document, designed to help PMs and Providers clearly understand payment compliance around some of the 'greyer' areas. Hoping for more clarity around the use of 'Other Professional' therapy code, gap fees, amongst many others.
Providers need to be alert as the changes will come thick and fast now, as the government seeks to significantly reduce overall spend.
I will share updates as they are officially announced. If I can help at all, please remember I offer 1:1 Consulting services plus NDIS Essentials and Mastering NDIS training workshops, LINK here for more info and bookings: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/o/jodie-cox-consulting-120343189501
Are you a supported independent living (SIL) provider? Or are you an NDIS participant receiving these supports?
Did you know that from 1 July this year, SIL Providers will need to be registered to deliver these supports in the NDIS?
Mandatory registration will help to improve the quality and safety of SIL supports, and lift outcomes for people who rely on these services.
