IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT for our NDIS clients at REAL PD now trading as Nurturedbynature with Nicole.
Thank you for all the emails and messages over the last few days after the changes were announced. They are confusing to say the least however, we have some clarification now.
An update with the changes to NDIS with Animal Therapy being listed as 'non-evidence based' modality and now a not an approved service! Importantly, this does not impact our service to NDIS participants.
As an ACA registered Clinical Counsellor and Equine Psychotherapist and ACT Pratitioner I utilise many different evidence based modalities of therapy during sessions as we work towards identified personal and NDIS goals.
We adhere to the standards of care and ethics outlined by ACA and meet the rigorous Professional Developments and Supervision requirements for our continued registration.
While we engage in connection with horses , it is one aspect of what we do at REAL PD. Much of our work is room based therapy however, I encourage participants where possible working out doors in the presence of horses. We get the beautiful calming effect of horses and being in nature is part of the therapy process
I hope this clarifies what is happening. I am in contact with Animal Therapies Ltd who is the peak body for animal therapists and they are seeking further clarification around the definitions.
Kindest Regards Nicole
