About the role:
Being an occupational therapy assistant involves visiting adults or children with a disability in their homes and carrying out therapy activities based on the plan provided by the occupational therapist. You will be required to complete some documentation following the session.

All training, resources, and ongoing support for the role is provided.

Must haves:
- Occupational therapy student (preferred)
- Own car and driver's licence
- Ability to build rapport with people of all ages
- Keenness to interact with children and young adults
- Availability 3 afternoons per week

What a fantastic expo last week, run by The Disability Events Community - The DEC in Campbelltown. We met and spoke with so many people from different backgrounds and chatted different OT related issues. Everything was so well run, and we were lucky enough to have lovely neighbours we got to know from Aus Care Community Services, check them out.

Seeking an OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY STUDENT to commence a role as a therapy assistant with company Lifestyle Therapy Solutions. The role is assisting in delivering therapy sessions to clients with a disability under the guidance of a qualified and experienced OT.
Based in Camden, sessions are completed in homes and schools around the Camden, Campbelltown, Narellan and Liverpool areas.
Great opportunity for students to gain experience in their field and put their learning to real life application. Get mentoring and supervision.

Must have:
• Availability on at least 3 weekday afternoons (Monday - Friday between about 2pm - 7pm/ 1pm - 6pm).
• Own car and drivers license
• A passion for working with people - kids and adults
• Creative and fun mindset
• Strong communication
• OT degree underway, 2nd or 3rd year student. (1st year considered if previous relevant experience).

Executive functioning put simply is about being able to plan and organise well enough to get a job done successfully, or stay on top of a whole lot of jobs we might be responsible for. There's a whole set of skills we need to have good executive function and an OT can help you build those skills or put helpful strategies and tools in place to support executive functioning!

The difference made by something as simple as using our white board to help J break down instructions into smaller simple steps before attempting a cooking task, and laying them out clearly where we could keep checking back on them was phenomenal and his end product was a success 👍

Playing to Elliott's strengths and interests whilst working on visual motor integration so that he can build basics for handwriting. Elliott focused so hard on his OT session here in our office this week and was so proud to show mum his work! He also happily told us he was "just like dad" with the hammer
