Dr Harveen Singh PAEDIATRIC GASTRO SPECIALIST at Macarthur Paediatrics.

I would like to share wonderful news that Dr Harveen Singh is joining team Macarthur Paediatrics from February 2026. Please feel free to contact our practice or get a referal from your GP if you have child with complex Gut issues.

Dr Harveen Singh has public appointments at Campbelltown Hospital and sees patients privately at Bankstown and Westmead. She has worked as a consultant at Children’s Hospital Westmead, Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne and at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, UK (The largest paediatric transplant and hepatology unit in Europe)

Dr Harveen has a wide range of expertise in gastroenterological conditions including
• Liver disease – all forms
• Inflammatory bowel disease
• Allergic gut disorders, coeliac disease and eosinophilic oesophagitis
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease and functional gut disorders
• Paediatric gastroscopy and colonoscopy

Dr Harveen underwent specialist paediatric training in Queensland. Following this, she completed sub-specialist training in gastroenterology at Queensland Children’s Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.

She has published widely in the field of clinical gastroenterology and hepatology. She has presented her research and received awards at both national and international conferences. Her research interest includes acute on chronic liver failure, autoimmune liver disease, cystic fibrosis liver disease, eosinophilic oesophagitis, reflux and inflammatory bowel disease.

She is committed to teaching and education and is a member of the Royal Australian College of Physicians Gastroenterology Curriculum Advisory Group. She finds working with families to establish a diagnosis, management and treatment plan rewarding, and values the importance of good communication and listening.

I am delighted to share wonderful news that one of my colleugue Dr Aisyah Ibrahim is joining team Macarthur Paediatrics from February 2026.

Dr Aisyah is a locally trained Australian Consultant Paediatrician. She has broad experience across tertiary, metropolitan, and regional settings in New South Wales. She provides family-centred, evidence-based care for infants, children, and adolescents, with clinical interests in newborn and infant care, developmental and behavioural paediatrics, seizures, feeding and growth concerns, and complex care.

Dr Aisyah is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). She has worked across several major paediatric centres, including:
• The Children’s Hospital at Westmead
• Campbelltown Hospital
• Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals

Special Interests
Her special interests include:
• Newborn and infant care, including post-discharge follow-up
• Developmental and behavioural concerns
• Feeding, growth, and general paediatric concerns
• Care coordination for children with complex needs.

Dr Ibrahim lives and works in Macarthur. She has short waiting time to see new patients.

Welcoming new Paediatrician at Macarthur Paediatrics

I would like to welcome and introduce my colleague Dr. APARNA DHAYADE at MACARTHUR PAEDIATRICS. Dr. Aparna is a consultant Paediatrician with over 20 years of experience in acute and chronic paediatric care. She has been working for last 13 years in various roles within the ACT and in NSW Health.

Dr Aparna is an Australian trained Paediatrician with Fellowship through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in General Paediatrics. Dr Aparna is passionate about holistic care for children with chronic and complex conditions, neonatal care, and in supporting families’ post-NICU discharge. She has special interest in managing complex medical conditions and supporting preterm infants. Dr Aparna has extensive knowledge of developmental and behavioural challenges, including eating disorders. Dr Aparna speaks fluent English, Hindi and Marathi.

Macarthur Paediatrics is a family-centred and LGBTQ+ friendly paediatric practice dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care.

Associate Professor Bijender Gautam is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician with over 21 years of experience in South West Sydney, specialising in the care of newborns and children with complex medical needs. He is the Director and Founder of Macarthur Paediatrics, providing expert care and support to young patients and their families. As a Clinical Associate Professor at Oceania University of Medicine and a Senior Conjoint Lecturer at Western Sydney University, he brings a wealth of knowledge and mentorship to the next generation of medical professionals and exceptional care to his young patients.

With over 21 years of experience as a Consultant Paediatrician, with 12 years in South West Sydney, BJ is a dedicated advocate for the health and well-being of newborns and children with complex medical needs. As the Director of Macarthur Paediatrics, he has been a pillar of support for countless families, offering expert care and guidance during challenging times.

BJ’s academic contributions as a Clinical Associate Professor at Oceania University of Medicine and Senior Conjoint Lecturer at Western Sydney University demonstrate his commitment to nurturing the next generation of medical professionals.
His passion for supporting children with life-limiting conditions aligns perfectly with Rio's Legacy's mission.
