As 2025 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on a year filled with connection, growth and shared milestones at BCD 💜

It’s been a year of supporting people towards their goals, celebrating everyday wins, and walking alongside our customers, families and communities with care and respect. From new beginnings in supported living to the quiet, meaningful moments of daily support, it’s been a privilege to be part of so many journeys.

✨Yesterday we celebrated 𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙍𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝘿𝙖𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙢𝙖𝙨 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙧. It was a timely reminder that human rights are the everyday essentials we all rely on, dignity, safety, choice, and belonging. These values guide everything we do at BCD and shape the way we support and uplift our community.

As we move into the festive season, we’re feeling grateful for the people around us, our customers, families, community partners and team. At BCD we’re proud to stand with our community in recognising International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), a day dedicated to increasing awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability while celebrating their achievements and contributions.

This year’s theme reminds us that inclusion isn’t just something we talk about, it’s something we create together. Every conversation, every accessible choice, every moment of listening and learning helps build a world where everyone is valued and able to participate fully.

For over 23 years, we’ve walked alongside individuals, families and communities, and today is a special reminder of why that work matters. We’re grateful for the resilience, creativity and perspectives shared with us every day by the people we support.

Our customer Alex absolutely nailed Halloween, dressing up as the Ghost Bride from her favourite Disneyland attraction, The Haunted Mansion!

She joined in on a spooky trick-or-treating trail filled with laughter, costumes, and a touch of Halloween magic. We love seeing our customers bring their creativity and a few friendly scares to life. We hope your weekend was filled with eating candy and being scary!

🧠 Dementia Awareness Month
This month, our BCD team was honoured to join seniors at Café Connect, where we shared conversations about brain health, dementia awareness, and explored practical ways to age well at home.

💜Café Connect is such a valuable space for seniors, a place to engage in a variety of workshops and activities that promote a safe, healthy, and connected lifestyle. By talking openly about dementia, we help reduce stigma, empower individuals and families, and encourage people to access the right support early.

✨ A big thank you to Wollondilly Council and Western Sydney University for creating opportunities like this, and to the wonderful community members who came along, asked questions, and shared their stories.
