Sunday morning meditation 🌿

I meditate best when I give my monkey mind something to do.

I love weaving these lavender and dandelion wands. The scent of the lavender whilst weaving, the unexpected sheen and flexibility of the dandelion stems, allowing thoughts in and out... Then at the end having a lovely wand to show for my practice and a balanced mind to face the upcoming week.

Hope you all get a moment to slow down this silly season 💚

Ahhh...that's a nice Monday public holiday.

I love having time to forage around my backyard for inspiration on what to cook and having the time to chuck on some tunes and make an arvo of food prepping and dancing around the kitchen.

Anyone else get really over having to think about what to make for dinner?
I'm trying to let my garden decide. Definately something with leeks 😸

Nothing like a porcini you foraged yourself 😍

Finally got out for a good forage and came across an abundance of porcini mushrooms. The dehydrator is at capacity and my future risotto never looked so tasty 😋

I love how nature provides these treasures of vitamin d at the coldest and darkest time of year. Coincidence? I don't think so 😉

🍄Quick tip: if you put your mushrooms in the sunlight for a few hours after picking or bringing home from the shops with their gill side up, a chemical reaction happens that increases their vitamin d even more. How cool is that?!

Happy foraging 😻

Threw this simple lil infusion together the other day but wasn't expecting the colour to be so pretty✨

It's English lavender in white vinegar which I like to use for cleaning and putting in the rinse cycle of the washing every so often to keep my towels extra soft and fluffy. It also leaves a gentle scent of lavender behind. So nice ☺️

I'll give this brew a few more days then strain it. Smells really good already 😸

How magical is this flower?!
There really is something about the colour blue in plants ✨
If you havent already met, allow me to introduce you.

'Clitoria Ternatea' (BEST named flower ever, the name is due to its shape 😉)
This plant is also known as butterfly pea, blue pea, asian pigeonwings the list goes on.

I am so delighted to finally have these growing in the garden. They are an Asian tropical vine, and so I am pretty amazed I got them to grow here in SA. It just goes to show you should always try your luck particularly in the garden.

I could just buy the flowers already dried and ready to use, but if you know me, you'll know that doing things in a fully circular way is what truly brings me joy. I love to grow my own plants for eating, drinking, formulating and crafting... wherever possible 😊

I love making a magical tea brew with the flowers. It's the most beautiful shade of blue, and if you add a squeeze of lemon it will turn pink before your eyes due to the pH change.

I also love to use these in formulating. Not only to add some visual colour therapy to my products, but this flower is high in Proanthocyanidin which assists in collagen and elastin stimulation. WIN WIN! It can also be used to promote hair growth due to its Bioflavanoids. Such a clever little flower.

Stay tuned for some blue formulations coming up.. once I've harvested enough. Ive got 6 at the moment 🤣😂
She did only just start flowering so I'm sure the best is yet to come 🤞

Ive had a few enquiries about MLD lately so I thought I would repost this for those curious kitties out there 😸

Ive had a few enquiries about MLD lately so I thought I would repost this for those curious kitties out there 😸

Did you know that I practice MLD or Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

MLD (in a nutshell) is a massage modality that focuses on waking up your lymph nodes, lifting anchoring filaments just below your skins surface so they sit up and allow more lymph circulation, then creating pressure changes to direct lymph to the nodes.
A 90 minute full body MLD session can increase your lymph circulation from the usual 1.5-3 litres in 24 hours, to 10-12 litres in 24 hours after your session. Amazing right? But what does this actually mean for you?

🍃Boosted immune function and increase in production of immune cells in the body (t-cells, b-cells and lymphocytes about 20%)
🍃Decrease in pain as it stimulates your parasympathetic nervous system, sedating your nerve endings.
🍃Decrease in areas of swelling or fluid retention
🍃Detoxifies your body
🍃 Improves healing time on injuries

This modality can be done on its own or in conjunction with other modalities to create the perfect session for you. It allows me to treat conditions that are usually contraindicated by other massage modalities giving me more ways to help you feel awesome.

To book a session or if you have any questions on how MLD can help you, call me on 0403 651 134, or PM me

I have exciting news for all my pregnant clients ☺️

The pregnancy massage pillow is here!

I'm so excited to be able to offer even more supportive comfort to pregnancy massage sessions moving forward.

This thing is awesome, it has a scoop out for the belly, it splits in two so we can adjust it to fit your growing needs. Plus it also has scoop outs for your breasts to make lying face down even more comfortable. But really it's just so fantastic to just take the weight strain off the body, allowing you to fully relax.

I can't wait to start supporting you during your pregnancy. To make a booking or if you have any questions, send me a DM ☺️

I thought I would share this article and video with you as a gentle reminder about the importance of touch, not from a massage perspective but from a human health and wellbeing perspective.

Never before have we experienced a fear of touch as a collective and I'm glad someone is going there and talking about what it may mean for us not only in the future, but now.

For all the new mums and mums to be, she talks a bit more in the video about what this may mean for your baby's development. She also starts off with a story about how effective touch therapy can be during labour.

There are also some tips to help you if you can't be touched and are feeling isolated and disconnected.

Look after yourself friends 🙌

Hey everyone,

Yep I'm still here and getting back into the swing for the new year.

Unfortunately no more fun masks for me but the time has come for upping my PPE game. This means that if you're coming for a treatment I now need to ask you to wear a mask throughout your session. I know it's not as nice lying face down with one on, but I face planted my table earlier with one of these on for half an hour and it really isn't that bad especially if you have someone helping you relax in your body at the same time (that's me ☺️).

Times are weird but I'm doing best to do my bit to keep you and me safe and still show up because touch therapy is so important in this isolating strangeness that we are all experiencing in some way.

Much love to you all, stay safe and I hope to see you soon.
💚 Chantal
