I battled Anorexia Nervosa for 17 years and very nearly lost my life to the illness twice. This was like sliding into a pit with slippery mud-covered walls. I felt alone in my struggles to get out
After years of being in the pit of Anorexia, not without many attempts at climbing out, , I came to realise that it was my hope and at times the hope of others that kept me fighting to get out. It was the hope to be free of the disease.

When I look back on my years of struggle, I wished I had someone that had the clarity, confidence, and the capabilities to help me get out of the pit. Someone who climbed out of their own and could teach me how to do it. I wish I had someone who I trusted to fight with me
It is my gold to empower young people with an ED and show them that no matter how daunting the fight to be free feels, it is possible. To provide young people and their support team with the tools and knowledge to conquer the disease.

Why Recovery Coaching?

While therapists work to diagnose eating disorders and treat their underlying causes, eating disorder recovery coaches help accomplish day-to-day behavioral changes to support recovery.
Collaboration is key for a successful recovery. This means that a Coach will work alongside the person, the family and the support team.
The Evolo Coach understands from personal experience and through listening to the experiences of others, that eating disorders don’t set hours or have boundaries. This means a lot of the demanding work in recovery happens outside of therapy sessions. One of the key benefits of having a Recovery Coach is that they are available to provide support in between treatment sessions and outside of hours.

The Coach will be there to help quieten the voice and take away some of the inner arguments. The Coach will assist in making choices that align with positive health goals and freedom from the ED. The coach will relentlessly fight the ED alongside the team.

A person does not need to have a diagnosed eating disorder to receive help. Early intervention is key.
A Coach can still help. Reach out to Evolo today to get the help from a coach and become from of the ED.

You got this far despite your Eating Disorder.
Imagine what you can do without it ❤️

Every time you decide to ignore the ED voice, is a step closer to the beautiful life you deserve and will have ❤️

This happened early one morning on a day that I would normally go to the gym .

ED driven Madi would have honestly turned down this experience, in fear of missing a workout. The anxiety and argument with the ED would have been too unbearable to have. ED driven Madi would have succumbed to the panic of missing a workout (an opportunity to burn calories) and made an excuse as to why she couldn’t break routine.

ED driven Madi missed so much of life’s beautiful experiences. 100% this was due to fear .

ED driven Madi would’ve justified listening to the ED in attempts to feel like she had control.

If ED driven Madi, did actually miss a workout or changed her routine; would have hated it , been anxious the whole time and definitely would have passed on the champagne breaky!

Recovered Madi/Me/I ; Enjoys life fearlessly. I can not only win the argument with the ED , I but do not have it at all!

I can freely and blissfully spend time with the love of my life . I enjoy a good champagne breakfast ❤️❤️

Freedom and fearlessness does not come overnight. It takes hard work and time.

It can be yours too. Here a 3 things that can help:-

#1. Talk to yourself with love and compassion.

#2. Separate yourself from the ED. Do things that keep you connected with you.

#3. Hire a damn good coach

TRIGGER WARNGIN FOR IMAGE. 2 years difference between.

We can get frustrated when we put in the effort and don’t see the results we are aiming for immediately. Recovery is a process and a long ass one at that. It’s important to sometimes look back , rather than forward and appreciate the success you have had, your commitment to the process and acknowledge how far you have come .

When I was unwell, I wore dirty baggy clothes and chose to exercise in a way that burns calories and breaks the body down.
I now now no longer exercise to punish and restrict. I move my body to foster growth (both mind and body). I am able to wear nice things that make me feel like me.

Looking back I know that this shows a massive change in mindset. An appreciation for rest and recovery. A positive association with more food and feeling stronger and healthier. A positive association between feeling healthier and becoming more confident. A positive association with high calories and increased weight and performance.

Appreciate how far you have come and seek out support if you’re finding this hard or feeling stuck 💪🥰

Sometimes it’s harder to slow down than stop moving. Harder to take a break than continuing to push ourselves.Harder to let yourself be a lounge hero than go for a walk. Harder to ignore the voice that tells us we need to be vigorously exercising, control what we eat and be productive; than to exercise lightly, eat something that someone has else has made us and just enjoy time with family and friends.

Every time we accept the challenge of defying the ED voice and choosing what it thinks is hard, we make it weaker. We start slow down and notice how beautiful life can be.

Slow down, take a rest, enjoy time with friends and family x

It takes years to let go of the anorexic voice. Don’t be ashamed of yourself. Of your past. Of your body. Of your feelings. Do not give in to the pull of an ED. You’ve been through wars. You’ve been through complete despair. You’ve come close to being gone. You are a warrior. You are unstoppable.
