Do you sometimes feel anxious before a visit to the pathology centre?

Here are our top tips to calm your nerves and help make your visit as smooth as possible:

⭐ Always look away if you feel uncomfortable with any part of the procedure.
⭐Take slow, deep breaths and be sure to keep breathing normally.
⭐Stay hydrated – drink lots of water leading up to your visit.
⭐ Speak up if you have had a challenging experience in the past.
⭐ Ask to lie down to minimise risk if you have previously had any faint or dizzy episodes.
⭐ Stop by your local chemist and pick up some over-the-counter numbing cream or patches and apply them around 30 minutes before your visit if you don’t like the sensation.

Our caring team at Capital Pathology is here to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Do you have any of your own tips to share?

Today is International Pathology Day – an annual awareness day which is dedicated to highlighting the pivotal role pathology plays in healthcare, and our overall health and wellbeing.

Pathology is often the quiet achiever as so much of what we do takes place behind the laboratory doors, yet pathologists make such an immeasurable difference to people’s lives every single day.
At Capital Pathology we know just how important the role of pathology is in the early detection of health conditions and diseases.

We are grateful to our expert team of pathologists and clinicians, scientists and technicians who strive for pathology excellence every day.
