Very excited to see these new standards being released soon which will hopefully ensure patients are protected further. Sign up to watch the webinar to learn more!

These Standards are part of urgent reforms to the cosmetic surgery sector to improve patient safety and reduce risk of harm.

Also, thanks to the brave women who shared their story for this piece - first hand experience adds so much value to these pieces.

Who we are & what we do

We are a group of passionate advocates with a mission to raise awareness and support education on Breast Implant Illness (BII) and breast implant safety. We aim to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, patients, regulators and health organisations to drive improvement in outcomes for patients and aid in decision-making related to breast implants.

Many of us in this community have experienced adverse outcomes related to breast implants and understand the effect this can have on health. We recognise that women have breast implants for different reasons, either reconstructive purposes or augmentation and we want to ensure patient safety and education is primary goal during this process.

We aim to keep up to date with research and new information relating to BII and encourage new long-term research focused on the safety of breast implants and the prevalence of BII. We are working to engage and support our community to understand challenges and issues surrounding Breast Implant Illness, including gathering experiences of women to better understand prevalence, which will contribute to our advocacy efforts.

We are advocating for:
