World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) reminds us of the importance of using antibiotics responsibly to help prevent antimicrobial resistance.

For almost a century, antibiotics have saved countless lives but misuse and overuse can reduce their effectiveness over time.

This year’s theme, “Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future,” encourages us all to take steps that preserve these vital medicines for generations to come.
