🍕 Baking Up Smiles and Sharing Joy! 🧡

Our Calvary Cooking Club brought together patients and staff for a fun and meaningful baking session, creating delicious pizza muffins under the guidance of Lorraine, our dedicated Allied Health Assistant. Joining in were Sonya Kolhagen, Allied Health Manager, and Smitha, Deakin NUM spreading warmth, encouragement, and a spirit of togetherness.

It’s truly heartening to see our patients smile and connect through activities that nurture wellbeing, companionship, and the Calvary values of hospitality, healing, and respect. 👩‍🍳✨

Meet the Team: CJJH Facilities/Maintenance
Fixing, Building, and Saving the Day Every Day! 🔧⚡🏥

From leaky taps to lighting, and everything in between, this crew keeps our hospital in top shape. Peter leads the charge as Facility Manager, with Wendy keeping the admin side running smoothly, while Marcus and Clancy are the hands-on heroes making sure everything works exactly as it should.

They’re the team that makes things happen quietly in the background fixing, building, checking, and maintaining to ensure our staff and patients have a safe, comfortable environment every single day.

Whether it’s troubleshooting an urgent issue, supporting renovations, or planning ahead to prevent problems before they start, they’re the reason our hospital runs seamlessly from the ground up.

They live our mission of providing safe, high-quality care because behind every working light, every running tap, and every comfortable ward, there’s this team making it happen.

Last week, some of our amazing ACT-based Calvary staff proudly took part in Zambrero's Plate 4 Plate Day with Rise Against Hunger, joining hundreds of volunteers to pack an incredible 50,000 meals in under three hours for families in Vietnam and the Philippines.

Plate 4 Plate Day is part of Zambrero’s global mission to help end world hunger where every meal purchased means a meal donated to someone in need.

It was a rewarding day of teamwork, compassion, and community coming together to make a real difference in the lives of others.

Meet the Team: CJJH Accounts Receivable

Balancing the Money & the Fun! 💸📊

They may look serious one moment and be carrying Rachel the next, but don’t let the laughs fool you. This team keeps CJJH’s finances on track. From processing invoices and reconciling accounts to ensuring every dollar is where it needs to be, they are the quiet force making sure our hospital runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Like detectives with calculators, they solve payment puzzles, track down details, and make sure our financial foundations are rock solid. And while they take the numbers seriously, they know how to have a laugh along the way because balance isn’t just about spreadsheets.

Living CJJH’s mission to deliver safe, high quality care and reflecting our vision of being a trusted, compassionate healthcare provider, this team proves that financial care is patient care too.

So next time you see them crunching numbers (or carrying each other around), remember they are the heroes making sure CJJH keeps caring for our community every day. 🌟

This week at CJJH was all about Clinical Documentation! 📚🖊️

Our new Clinical Documentation Specialist, Scarlet Howard, took the lead and hosted daily education sessions, reminding us just how important accurate documentation is in delivering safe, high quality care.

From capturing the little details to painting the big picture, good documentation keeps our patients safe, our teams connected, and our care consistent.

Big thanks to Scarlet for bringing knowledge, energy and a touch of fun to a topic that underpins everything we do at CJJH! 🌟

Meet the Team: Theatre Recovery Crew

(Guardians of the Wake Up Zone!)

Ever wonder who’s there making sure patients safely sail back from dreamland after surgery? That’s right, it’s our mighty Recovery Team: the peri operative pros who turn chaos into calm!

From steady hands to soothing words, they monitor every heartbeat, every breath, and every “where am I?” moment. Pain management? Sorted. Airway support? Nailed it. Reassuring families? Always. If multitasking were an Olympic sport, the Recovery Crew would bring home gold.

They’re also fluent in “post anaesthesia chat,” from wild dream stories to the classic “Can I eat now?” Whatever the question, their care and expertise make recovery a safe and reassuring stop on the road to healing.

Living CJJH’s mission to deliver safe, high quality care, this team shows our vision of compassionate, trusted healthcare in action every day.

So next time you see them working their quiet magic, remember, they’re the unsung heroes guiding patients smoothly from theatre to the next stage of care. 🌟💙
