Research Update From Our Clinic
A new editorial has been published in BMJ Open Sport & Exercise Medicine on how exercise can be prescribed more precisely for chronic musculoskeletal pain. Weโre happy to share that Dr Nash Anderson was invited to this international paper to contribute as a co-author, offering clinical insight into how research can better support real-world care.
The article explains that exercise is one of the most effective treatments for long-term back pain, neck pain, arthritis and other MSK conditions. But many studies donโt clearly report the details of their exercise programs โ things like intensity, frequency, progression and supervision. Without this information, it becomes harder for clinicians to prescribe the right exercise dose for each person.
The authors call for stronger reporting standards so future research can guide truly individualised, safe and effective exercise programs. This matches our own approach in the clinic, where we focus on personalised care, clear guidance and evidence-informed exercise.
If youโd like support with tailored exercise for chronic pain, weโre here to help.
