A free one-hour session at our urban retreat centre, the Gathering Place. You’ll learn how mindfulness can support mental health and try some mindfulness exercises.

This 4 week program is encouraging a meditative process, with a focus on stitching.

Each week a different focus with a piece of fabric.

The Program will be a facilitated meditative process, and will include a little movement and stretching, exploring different approaches to stitching each week, and moving between connection with others and your own process.

Simple sewing materials will be provided.

No sewing experience required!

Meet Caitlin, Facilitator of our Graduate Practice Group in Term 4.

Whether you’ve recently completed your MBSR course, would like to bring attention back to your mindfulness and meditation practice in a supportive environment, or would like to continue to deepen your practice, Simply Mindful would love to support you in this.

Our teachers lead the group, providing an opportunity to participate in a range of practices. These include guided meditation practices, silent meditation, walking meditation, mindful yoga, and at times short discussions about aspects of meditation.

During term 4, GPG is on Thursday evenings commencing Oct 23rd from 6pm - 7.30 pm. We have options for graduates to attend face to face or online via zoom.

Mindful Stitching
Wednesdays 10am-12pm starting 5 November (4 weeks)

Facilitator: Ruth Hingston

A two-hour session of stitching mindfully, working intuitively, engaging with fabric and thread, slow stitching together, under the guidance of a textile artist and long-time meditator.

No prior experience or skill needed, however bring sewing equipment if you have it.

Hey Canberra, is it time to make a change?

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

MBSR is our foundational 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program course developed 1n 1979 by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre. Each class is 2.5 hours, and a full day retreat is included.

Facilitated by Megan Layton, Director of Simply Mindful. Megan is warm, skilled and insightful - passionate about helping individuals to thrive. She is also a Mental Health Social Worker and Therapist.

Our Term 4 Programs are open for registration.

Complete beginners are offered our foundational 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course, or graduates can deepen their understanding and fine tune practice by undertaking a program in Positive Neuroplasticity or Self Compassion.

To help consolidate your practice we have a Graduate Practice Group on Thursday evenings.

We also run two yoga classes weekly on a Wednesday.
Mindful Mini Yoga - 45 minutes 5pm or a longer 1.5-hour practice of Mindful Yoga commencing at 6pm.

Free 1 hour Mindfulness for Mental Health at the Gathering Place

Learn how mindfulness can help mental health and try some mindfulness exercises. Come and check out our beautiful venue, the Gathering Place and meet Megan, the Director of Simply Mindful.
Mindfulness Meditation reduces stress, prevents burnout and improves wellbeing. Experience meditation practices and practical exercises you can use at work and home to live with more awareness, balance and joy, a long with a dash of science. Whether you've got a lot or a little experience with meditation, this session will support, encourage and refresh you. It's compatible with any spiritual belief and can be adapted for anyone.
