This week the wonderful Balanced Teachers and Karma Cleaning community got together in Griffith for our end of year Do- the theme being Potions and Prosecco! 🥂🔮✨
Gosh- what a night! It was so so lovely learning about different herbal additions to mocktails / cocktails and learning how to read our very own tea leaf readings! All with a cheeky prosecco or two!
We had a blast! It was a massive turnout and we were all just so thrilled to see each other - through the year we’re always such ‘ships in the night’ - teaching our classes, and only seeing each other for those small windows of time in between. As I looked around at one point at a break in the proceedings, I was just so struck by how truly lucky we are- this wonderful group of folk who lead us in our practice each week and create such a lovely culture and welcoming vibe that we all feel when we walk in the door of our yoga home. 🥹🥰 We are so so lucky! It was a night filled with belly laughs, lots of full faced grins and many hugs. (And more than one trip back downstairs to pick up more Prosecco!)
Thank you so so much for having us, we all had such a fabulous time! 🙏✨🌿

✨Nourishing Habits- fostering little moments of connection…. ✨

This week’s nourishing habit is to foster those little moments of connection with the significant people in your life.
It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture- step out of the habitual interactions we tend to have when we’re busy and give those people a compliment out of the blue, a small kind word without any ulterior motive- it resets your ‘daily grind’ interactions and reminds you also what you love about them!
Also a powerful practice to turn inwards too! 😉

✨ THURS 18TH DEC- TWILIGHT YOGA & LIVE MUSIC ✨

So- I need to rave about this experience a little bit....one of my favourite classes I've been to in Canberra! I loved it so much I begged Kim and Rohan to come and offer their magic to our little community!!
Imagine a uniquely delicious flow / yin blend class with Kim, set to live music intuitively matched to your movement - then as the sun sets, lying in Savasana as Rohan sings and plays as your body unwinds - JUST MAGIC.....GOOSEBUMPS & TEARS!!
Honestly- I can't explain what a deliciously nourishing experience it was- and the perfect way to finish up the busy year. Its a MUST!!!

🎄✨Nourishing Habits✨🎄
This week you get the bonus of being able to embarrass your kids as well as make yourself feel good!
It’s one of my fav nourishing habits- A Kitchen Disco!

There is method in the madness too, Somatic movement releases tension and endorphins and acts as a bit of a reset to the anxious patterning of the brain.
So this week- put on your favourite song, turn it up loud and dance like no one is watching! 🙌

✨ Black Friday Bandwagon!✨

I don't know if its just as it gains traction in Australia or if its the impact of - but it feels like i'm being bombarded with Black Friday offers this year! So many more marketing messages in my feed and inbox!
So I felt a bit weird about posting ANOTHER offer. So much so, I actually took the offer down off the website cos it felt a little too much...
But after speaking to some of our lovely yogis I changed my mind and I'm advertising it now for two reasons:
1) Because- Let's face it- as a small business we really do do a happy dance when someone trusts us with a big purchase like this one. By committing to a whole year of practice they're committing to themselves and Us! It says, "We love what you do so much we are IN!!"
2) And as students reminded me on the weekend, the increases to the cost of living- especially at this time of year- are REAL and it can make it hard to prioritise the very thing that makes adulting just that little bit easier- Our Yoga! So if by offering a big whack of a discount makes it just that much easier to get to the mat- then thats a good thing! As they said- Do it! Its a Win:Win!

So apologies for sending yet another offer out into your world, but hopefully this is one that you do actually care about! 🙏🧡

Can you bring in a little more ritual to your week with an Ayurvedic Abhyanga practice before you shower? Think loofah, delicious oils and a nightly water meditation….sublime! ✨🙌
Ha- can’t have tell there’s an energy shift today! I look so tired and slightly crazed watching this back!

This week’s nourishing habits brought to you by the chaotic energy of the November Super Moon! ✨

Also we’re chatting about how to bring joy from the moments of savouring the experience of your food. Letting go of the judgement of whether it’s ’good’ or ‘bad’ or any idea of the ‘should’ around it…but instead, really enjoying the moment. Being in the moment fully. My favourite tea meditation is just that- the simple act of drinking tea and relishing each part of the experience!

Hang in there this week loves, we’re almost through the hardest part…. ✨

✨Out of the mouths of babes- “ my body doesn’t feel like it likes that…✨

My daughter today told me her body didn’t feel like it likes photos…hmm-truth baby! 🙌

The wisdom of a three year old is today’s nourishing habit. Notice where it feels like ‘your body doesn’t like that.’ And instead of pushing through out of obligation or habit, honouring your boundaries and say no.
Easier said than done but see how you go!

Oh and get to class. At least once. Maybe even just 5 mins of intentional breathing and movement. It’ll make a difference I promise. Your body will like it! 😂🙏💚

✨It’s a universal ’9’ Year this year from a Numerology standpoint which means lots of change and endings- so I thought we could support ourselves in the run down to the end of the year trying new nourishing habits together.
So for the next 11 weeks (until Christmas- aaagh!)- let’s try to do at least one yoga practice a week. Not perfectly, not even necessarily a formal one at the studio! But at least one mindful breath or movement practice a week.
(I’ve popped some specials online for October to help make that a little easier!)
Then each week, I’ll come back online with a little nourishing habit we can try for the week together!
This week: Your mission is to set the tone for your day but not jumping on socials / online when you first wake up. Nourish your mind by not feeding it junk as soon as you wake up, instead wait until a little later in the day and see how it makes you feel! I’ll try it too- I’d love to hear your experience of it? Good luck! ✨

🙌 Yoga for Grown Ups- Drop & Run School Holiday Program 🙌

Yep- its as good as it sounds. Kids play while you practice! Wednesday 8th October 10.30am.
I'm so thrilled that our lovely friends at Lets Play Indoor Playground Nicholls reached out with a fab idea for these school holidays- WHAT IF....instead of an activity for the kids, we held a Yoga class for tired parents in that second week of school holidays when the whole family are a bit over it- and we had experienced educators mind the kids?!
GENIUS!!
So Kate's taking the Balanced Yoga Vibes Northside - The kids can have a blast, you can have a stretch and afterwards there is reeaally good coffee! Pretty much all you need!
