We were thrilled to host the Capital Health Network & Wellness Partners Foundation at George Sautelle House for the launch of a new mentoring program for on-site pharmacists. Our very own Goodwin pharmacist, Kirolos, is officially joining the program as a mentor!
As pioneers in integrating full-time pharmacists into the aged care setting, we know firsthand the incredible value this role brings to resident care. We are proud to back this initiative and look forward to seeing more pharmacists supported across the sector.

In honor of , we’re highlighting the vital role of clinical pharmacy in aged care.
Goodwin has a proud history as the first aged care provider in Australia to employ an on-site, full-time pharmacist, a model that has since become a benchmark for the industry.
This week, we were pleased to host the national & ACT president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia at Goodwin House. Our pharmacist, Kirolos, led a tour of our facilities, discussing the complexities of medication management and the benefits of having a dedicated on-site pharmacist integrated into our care teams.
Thank you, Kirolos, for your expertise and the incredible support you provide to our residents and staff.

All the world’s a stage… and yesterday, truly shone 🎭✨
Residents were swept away by a lively Shakespeare performance from Come you Spirits, with a few even stepping into the spotlight themselves. For those with a love of theatre, it was a beautiful return to the stage.
Bravo and thank you to Come You Spirits for such a memorable performance 👏

Caring for an ageing loved one is a profound balancing act. At Goodwin, we see the dedication of the sandwich generation every day, and we are proud to share this upcoming community event from Violet 💜
On Monday 23 March at 6pm, Club Sandwich is hosting a free community screening of Careless - the Netflix documentary that follows real Australian families through the reality of caring for ageing parents. Honest, moving, and at times genuinely funny, it's a film that makes you feel like someone finally understands what you're carrying.
After the screening, broadcaster Sarah Macdonald hosts a live Q&A with the filmmakers and expert panellists - a real conversation about the emotional, practical, and financial realities of caring for ageing parents in Australia.
Expect complimentary club sandwiches, bubbles, and the relief of a community that understands.

Goodwin is Canberra’s largest and longest serving local specialist in retirement living and seniors' care. Established in 1954, the not-for-profit organisation governed by a skills-based board and owned by its members, for its members, provides leading-edge residential aged care and retirement living options at villages in Ainslie, Monash, Farrer and Crace. Goodwin also provides home care services and seniors' Day Clubs across the ACT and regional southern NSW.
Superior service, facilities and clinical care capabilities set Goodwin apart. We believe that every person should have quality of life and the opportunity to stay productive in their community.
Goodwin has its roots in a women's community group, the National Council of Women who in 1954 began a campaign to ensure Canberra's seniors gained dedicated housing and support. Twelve community leaders formed a committee to pursue this ambitious idea, fundraising and lobbying for some years until opening Canberra's first residential aged care facility and seniors' housing, in Ainslie. They adopted the name Goodwin in honour of Lt Col John Goodwin, a renowned public servant and a tireless advocate of seniors’ rights.
Goodwin has come a long way since. Today Goodwin serves around 2500 seniors and continues to set benchmarks in quality aged care, partnering with research organisations on new care methodologies, and winning numerous awards for its retirement living villages and modern, sustainably designed apartments.
Among other achievements, Goodwin provides 24/7 on-site nurses in residential care and registered nurse oversight of home care; was the first in the nation to develop wellness centres to support independence and prevention; and is the first in Australia to employ an on-site pharmacist in residential care.
