💥💥Achilles Rupture💥💥

👉The Thompson test, which is shown in
this great video is used to test for a suspected rupture of the achilles tendon.

👨‍🦽The patient lies face down with feet hanging off
the edge of the bed. If the test is positive, there is
no movement of the ankle (normally plantarflexion
occurs) upon squeezing the corresponding calf.
This lack of movement signifies that a rupture of
the achilles tendon has likely occurred.

🧠A Thompson test result should be considered
positive when the physical response to calf
squeezing is aberrant and the ankle fails to
plantarflex.
