Ngunnawal Country Latitude 55 Outdoors was founded by Sarah Murray-Boyd, a Canberra-based outdoor activity facilitator, nature connection guide and event manager. Sarah works with individuals and small groups to help build deep embodied connections to self and nature through mindfulness, nature meditation and somatic techniques. Motivated by her own adventures outdoors and how they helped her recover from debilitating burnout, Sarah is passionate about the power of time in nature to heal, connect, teach, and guide us.

Nature journaling is a simple yet powerful way to slow down and really deepen your connection with nature.

But I hear so many people say ‘I’m not good enough - I can’t draw!’.

My tips are to:
- keep it simple
- be curious
- embrace imperfection, and
- do what feels right for you

Here are some prompts to get you started:

- What is above you?
- How many is there?
- What shape is that?
- Is there a pattern?
- How does that feel?
- Where is that sound?
- Is anything changing?

Enjoy 🌿

On International Women's Day - and every other day - let’s look for ways we can lift each other up through generosity, collaboration and connection.
Yesterday I shared a hike with four of the many fabulous women in my life, and was inspired to write about the connection that comes from time spent together outdoors.
Enjoy my latest blog post 🌿

There’s something about getting out in nature with your girlfriends that really can’t be beaten. The trails, the trees, and the mountains. They are not just beautiful - they offer an amazing space where connection can gr...

Close your eyes
And listen to the water…

Take a slow breath
Hold it
And then exhale

Repeat
Inhale
Exhale

Your nervous system recognises the sounds of nature
It feels safe

Nothing to do
Nothing to fix

Enjoy 🌿

A beautiful time at Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve today as I get ready for my first nature connection walk there this Friday.
When you slow down and tune in to your senses it’s amazing the colours and textures you start to see!
So relaxing 🌿

‘Therapy’ the New Zealand way.
A quick nature break was exactly what I needed to slow down, connect with my senses and clear my head.
My heart is open 🌿

A sit spot really doesn’t need to be fancy.
It is simply a place that you choose to sit, observe, interact and connect with nature on a regular basis.
Mine is my backyard 🌿
Where is yours?

Twice in one week an echidna has appeared during my sit spot practice.
I have read that in some traditions that the echidna is a symbol of knowledge, survival, and finding strength.
It represents the ability to “dig in” and handle big challenges, while staying grounded in reality.
Some say an echidna visit can be a message to protect your energy, trust your instincts, and patiently work through obstacles.
Share your own spirit animal and its significance to you.
