It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to PASG 2026, the International Conference of the Parental Alienation Study Group (PASG), proudly hosted by Parents Beyond Breakup in Perth, Western Australia, from 11–13, October 2026.

This conversation is bigger than slogans. True abuse exists. Some parents absolutely should not have contact. That’s not in question.

But when estrangement reaches this scale, it deserves serious thought.

Parents rarely speak publicly. Many are protecting their child’s privacy. Many are holding hope. Many are afraid of being shamed.

What is rarely acknowledged is the psychological toll — including severe depression and, in some cases, su***de attempts.

That doesn’t mean children are responsible for their parents’ mental health.

It does mean this phenomenon is not emotionally trivial.

If this many families are fracturing, we owe it to everyone — parents, adult children, and grandchildren — to examine it honestly.
