Merry Christmas from the practice engine room behind the reception desk!

We are blessed with fabulous admin staff that thankfully rarely changes. However, today we bid farewell to Rhiannon (left), our deputy practice manager who has helped innumerate patients on their journeys over several years. We pay homage to her thoughtful and calm leadership, and simply being a joy to have around.
Enjoy the interstate move Rhi - we look forward to showing off the refurbished practice to you next year!

And don’t worry everyone: Margie (right) is sticking round with the rest of the team to continue to offer the great patient experience that everyone loves.

🧠 Today is World Mental Health Day — a global reminder that mental health is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. This year’s theme, “Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies,” calls attention to the invisible toll of crises — from natural disasters to conflict zones — where emotional wounds often outlast physical ones. In times of upheaval, mental health support must be part of the first response, not an afterthought.

One in five people affected by emergencies may develop serious mental health conditions, yet services are often disrupted or inaccessible. We must advocate for systems that prioritize psychological first aid, tele-mental health, and community-based care — especially for vulnerable groups like children, the elderly, and displaced individuals.

Let’s use today to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and push for inclusive, resilient mental health services that reach people when they need it most. Because healing minds is just as vital as rebuilding lives.

Flu season is here. Ken Behrens, have you had your annual vaccination?

Across Australia, in 2025 there have been over 150,000 lab-confirmed influenza cases. From May to June 2025, monthly influenza cases more than doubled in most jurisdictions, increasing by:

145.60% in the ACT, from 625 to 1535 for a total of 2596 from January to June 2025
133.04% in Victoria, from 7012 to 16,341 for a total of 37,864
131.77% in South Australia, from 2106 to 4881 for a total of 10,798
129.51% in NSW, from 9111 to 20,911 for a total of 56,957
101.88% in Queensland, from 4571 to 9228 for a total of 30,024
