Flu vaccine express clinics start this Saturday! Government-funded and privately funded vaccines ($25) are now available.
You may have a Covid-19 booster at the same time as your flu shot if eligible.
Eligibility for government funded flu vaccine:
1. All people 65+ years (25% stronger dose, covers all four strains).
2. Pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy.
3. Children aged 6 months to less than 5 years.
4. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over.
5. People with chronic medical conditions predisposing to severe influenza, such as:
- heart disease (cyanotic congenital heart disease, congestive heart failure), coronary artery disease,
- lung disease (moderate to severe asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, suppurative lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic emphysema),
diabetes,
- chronic renal failure,
- chronic neurological conditions (hereditary and degenerative CNS diseases, seizure disorders, spinal cord injuries, neuromuscular disorders),
- immune compromising conditions (immunocompromised due to disease or treatment, asplenia or splenic dysfunction, HIV infection,
aged 5 to 10 years and are receiving long-term aspirin therapy.
