💜 The office was recently transformed into a professional development space for mining and software professionals. ⏱️The focus of my presentation was Time Management - who better to talk about time management than a busy mother? 😜

💜 Jokes aside, the context and audience was different but it held the same underlying truth: we're all trying to reclaim agency over how we spend our days.

⏱️Whilst lots of time management strategies were presented, this session wasn't about jamming more into the day, it was about exploring how our roles and responsibilities, the invisible loads we carry impact our wellbeing.

Here's what the research tells us:
💙 Stress drops by 20-30%, work-life balance improves, and job satisfaction increases when you manage your time effectively.
💙People who feel they have control over their time experience 50% less emotional exhaustion and burnout. That’s a huge win!

It was inspiring to see the Geotechnicoal Pty Ltd Team prioritising their wellbeing.

🥳I met a kick-ass group of women in Bowen recently.

💜They arrived on a Thursday morning, carving out three hours for themselves in lives that rarely slow down. Some drove hours to be there. Some rearranged farm schedules, childcare, and work commitments. They showed up — not because they had spare time, but because they knew they needed a new way to understand women’s wellbeing.

💔The statistics on rural women's wellbeing are honestly confronting. But - so is our strength when we come together. And wow, did these women show up - for themselves and each other.

💜They didn't just listen—they leaned in. They asked the hard questions. They named what they've been silently carrying. They shared stories and the masks came off. Events like this are rare, and as one woman said it felt like exhaling after holding her breath for years.

Thank you to NQ Dry Tropics NRM for making this happen and thank you to the room full of vibrant women for your vulnerability and determination to raise awareness and change the stats for our communities– you truly are of the farm!

Julia Entvisl from Behindthebehaviour recently joined us at Masterclass for Mums.

🔸Thank you so much for creating time in your week to join us. Julia is super passionate about helping parents build emotional regulation and connection with their children. Her work blends parenting strategies with her lived experience as a special educator and a mother.

Here’s a snippet of what Julia shared –
🔸 "Peace Begins With Me" a simple 10 second regulation tool to reset our nervous system.
🔸 How our language and words can escalate or de-escalate situations with our kids and
🔸The importance of "collecting" and connecting with our children - before giving direction.

💜In the conversation that followed we spoke about something the Masterclass Mums are very familiar with - the importance of not letting valuable tools and techniques turn into ‘shoulds’ that foster guilt.

💜Some days we have the bandwidth to pause and collect before a redirect and on others we won’t – and that’s okay!

💜Research tells us meeting our child’s needs just 30% of the time is sufficient to create happy, well attached children. This doesn’t mean that they’re neglected for 70% of the time! It just means that we’re giving our kids the opportunity to experience a little frustration, disappointment and self-reliance by creating opportunities for age and context appropriate skill building.

Maggie-Laurie Spark from Spark LIFE recently joined us at the Motherhood and Matrescence office to dismantle the myths around women's fitness, and to share with us what women's bodies really need to thrive.

Here are some of the topics she covered:
💚How to strengthen our bones and why that matters for mothers
💚Why lifting weights is essential for women
💚 How we can easily add movement into our day for better physical and mental wellbeing and
💚the best ways for busy mothers to get the results they want.

💜If you're waiting for a sign to say NO to a few things - this is it!💜

I thought I'd share this because I saw it doing the rounds on socials and it has stayed with me.

🎄We talk about preparing for the silly season - but the silly season for mums has well and truly begun!

💜Many of us are juggling end of term events, with end of year work deadlines, additional social events, Christmas shopping - and preparing for the school year ahead. This is on top of helping kids with assessments and projects brought home. (Last week 50 candles had to be made and a push pull toy - that we apparently misread the brief on.) 😵‍💫

💜There are only a few days left of November - but I'm taking this vibe into December too so I can create space to breathe and maybe even have a pyjama day with my kids. 🥰

I have just finished putting together these goodie bags for the upcoming Motherhood and Matrescence masterclass this Friday.

I am honoured to have been invited as a guest speaker for this beautiful local initiative, designed to support mothers in navigating the changes that occur when you become a mother.
