BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! This has always been a favourite quote of mine. Every time I read it, it hits deep, until I realised I didn’t quite agree. That’s not the big announcement btw. But as I see these words through todays eyes I see every class I have been a part of, every time I’ve been a student in and every I’ve time been lucky enough to walk beside people on their journey of this weird and wonderful journey we call Yoga practise. And I can’t look back at that all those moments witout seeing how they have formed the best parts of my personality. The most cherished aspects life. And yet last year I took a leap towards something a little less known, towards people who had no reason to have faith in me, to a version of myself I wasn’t even sure existed, because I hadn’t met her yet. When I met her, she was surprisingly capable, always curious, expectably responsible, predictably imperfect and undeniably showing a lot of potential (that’s code for, shows rooms for improvement). I truly believe everything my life so far has built within me, is a gift to future me to figure out what direction I’ll be steering my energy and attention next. With school holidays, Xmas and travel plans coming up now seems like the perfect time to gaze at my navel and take a break from teaching. Consider this my long service leave times two, for 20 + years, but also cause I’m greedy. I hope in reading this, you are able to give yourself permission to gaze at your greedy navel too and give yourself what brings it joy. From my heart to yours, until we meet on the mat again…. Imagine finding Love in friendship, again and again and again…. To all the friends I meet on the mat, a reminder no Yoga this Friday 19th. Next week during school holidays, just to throw you off I will be teaching my regular Friday 9am class (26/7) at Miss Jenny’s. Keep posted as I may open my private Thursday 5:15pm class to more friends. And that will be it for awhile, while I take off with my little love with friends that I love, doing what I love in Japan for a few weeks 🙂

Life has been buusssyyy and I’m going to lie, I’m enjoying relieving the weight of posting on socials since closing the studio. I still love teaching though, and I do still teach every week in fact! I have a couple of cheeky spots available this week in my usually private Thurs 5:15pm class (text me if you want to join) and of course the more the merrier 9am Fridays at Miss Jenny’s x

I’m in my ‘soft’ era. Which actually just means I’m having a week off my big girl job to spend time with my baby and work on my never ending projects at home. ‘Soft’ to me just means, more time to do the things I love, such as teaching Yoga. If you feel like a bit Yoga this week I’ll be teaching both Mon & Fri 9am at Miss Jenny’s. Can’t guarantee if I’ll be hitting you hard or soft, just that I’ll be there with open arms x

There is no such thing as a ‘Peaceful life’. But there is nothing wrong with having the desire to live one. Our lives are ‘Chaos’, sounds extreme but in reality simply means they are vulnerable to uncertainty and randomness. At times this creates challenge and at others it creates opportunity. Yogic ‘Sanyasi’s’ & Buddhist ‘Malarepa’s’ knew this, and they would often remove themselves from their families and society to live as recluses in order to devote their lives to spiritual practises in the hopes of achieving ‘Samadhi’ (Enlightenment). It was believed to be achieved easier without the disruption a ‘regular’ life brings. But what can the rest of us do to achieve some sense of ‘peace’ and moments of 'everyday enlightenment'? Listen to our intuition, understand our needs and take on responsibility to meet them, make sometimes hard choices to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe, make choices that other people might not understand, surround ourselves with people whom we feel totally at ease with, take the time to understand the things we don’t and be patient with the people who don't understand us but are trying, be thoughtful and heartfelt with our apologies, stand firm and uphold our values, eat well, move our bodies, do things that bring us joy, sing, dance, create things even if others find them ugly, love fully knowing that those who love us back will return that love a hundred fold, learn to love ourselves, be kind/patient/empathetic/forgiving/vulnerable but know when these things are be used to hurt us, stay soft and stay open to a life we may not have been expecting but a life we don't regret living. We all want peace, and our desire for peace should never be weaponised against us. ‘I hope you find the peace you are looking for’ are words based in kind sentiment. Ones that when spoken with earnestness help you see the people in your life that are as committed to your safety and peace as you are. These are words I share with all of my heart to each of you now. Never let anyone degrade or mock you for seeking a more peaceful life. Trust that if it’s a more peaceful life you seek, it’s a more peaceful life you deserve and it's a more peaceful life your will receive. X

Friends, this has been a week of small things for me. Illness and a complete lack of my voice means I’ve accomplished a lot of embroidery, reading and sleeping. Some of my energy has returned. And my voice is starting to crack in a way that makes me feel like it has something to say. I wasn’t going to teach for obvious reasons. But this weekend marks the one year anniversary of the skin and bones of our old studio giving life to someone else’s dream. I can’t imagine not sharing practise in some way with you. So if you would like to join me this Friday at 9. I will be moving my body in very simple ways and saying very little. I hope it will be enough. I would love you to join me, always x

It’s a special day today, and it took me ages to find a quote that felt like the right thing to post. There were about ten contenders, until I found this one deep in the depths of my screen shots. It touches on the thing that makes my life feel so rich ands Deep. Friends I’m teaching today at 9am, at our other friend Miss Jenny’s studio, and then some friends are going for brunch.
