Nearly 38,000 Australians are now living with multiple sclerosis — and that number has grown 13% in just three years.

For a long time, people with MS were told to rest and avoid exercise. The research now says the opposite.

A 2025 study found that resistance training is the most effective exercise type for reducing MS-related fatigue. But it needs to be gentle, supervised, and adaptable to how you’re feeling on any given day.

When your joints hurt, the last thing you want to do is exercise. But here's the catch: not moving makes arthritis worse. Your joints stiffen up, the muscles that support them weaken, and the pain increases.

Gentle, regular movement is one of the best things you can do for arthritis. The challenge is finding exercise that doesn't make you hurt more.

"I'm too old to start exercising." We hear this one a lot. And respectfully — it's not true.

We have members in their 80s and 90s who started with us having never set foot in a gym. Some of them now move better than they did a decade ago.
