Colin says sleep is very important for health.

So naturally… everyone stayed up late googling it.

Funny, but also a little true.

Sleep is rarely just about what happens when your head hits the pillow. Very often it reflects what has been happening during the day.

Things that commonly influence sleep include:

• Stress levels and a busy mind
• Energy crashes during the day
• Blood sugar balance
• Serotonin and mood chemistry
• Caffeine or late eating
• Screen time and sleep habits
• Overall sleep hygiene

Less commonly thought of sleep disruptors can also include things like liver function and digestion. When the body is working hard to process food, manage stress, or support detoxification pathways, it can sometimes make switching off at night more difficult or lead to waking during the night, especially between 1–3am.

In clinic we often find that when daytime health improves, sleep tends to follow naturally.

If your sleep has not been as refreshing as it should be, it may be worth looking at what your body has been dealing with during the day.

But on a serious note, if your knees, lower back or hips are constantly reminding you they exist, you are not alone.
