When a child is learning to communicate, they often need more time - time to process what you’ve said, time to decide what they want to say, and time to respond. By waiting, we give children the space they need to take their turn. ⏳

How long should you wait? There’s no perfect number. It depends on your child. Some children respond after 1–2 seconds, while others may need up to 10. If your child loses interest, you may have waited too long. But if you pause just long enough, you might be amazed by what they say or do next. 🌱
