We are an accredited General Practice located in the CBD of Cardiff, Lake Macquarie, where we have provided general medical services to residents and businesses of Cardiff, and surrounding suburbs for over 30 years. Since founded in the late 1970’s by Dr Anwar Kamal, the practice has grown in both number of staff and services provided. We continually strive to achieve and maintain the highest standards in general practice, providing best practice medical care, using up to date clinical practise’s and leading edge technology and equipment. Cardiff General Practice is also an accredited teaching practice. Through Valley to Coast General Practice Training we provide placement for Registrars and we also host Junior Medical Officers (JMO’s) through the Prevocational General Practice Placement Program (PGPPP). All registrars and JMO’s are fully qualified doctors who have been working the public hospital system and are now undertaking specialist training in their chosen field of general practice. We also provide placements for Medical Students through the University of Newcastle/University of New England Joint Medical Program.

From 1st November Cardiff General Practice is bulk-billing all Medicare eligible patients for all Medicare eligible services.

We have always bulk-billed conession cards holders and children under 16yrs of age (and a lot of patients not eligible for the old bulk-billing incentive)and our commitment to bulk-billing our community has been a challenge to maintain over the years with the Government freezing rebates and failing to keep up with the rising costs of running a practice. We hope that this new government incentive is enough to allow us to continue bulk-billing and providing essential services within our community.
