Vision on Koornang

Vision on Koornang Vision on Koornang - by Daniel & Clare, looking after the eyes of Carnegie since 1989 such as reading. We love to help our clients to see and smile

We want you to see well, and to look fabulous both now, and for years into the future. We have the latest techniques and clinical knowledge in the eye examination, and a gorgeous range of glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses should you need them. Founded by Daniel Duldig in 1989 who still practices today with interests in eye disease, age related visual conditions and contact lenses, the practice has continued to grow and was joined by Clare Campitelli in 2010. Clare Campitelli has extensive education and experience in behavioural optometry. This style of optometry is concerned not just with how well the eyes can see a chart - but also with how comfortably and efficiently the eyes are working when performing a task. She can provide vision therapy to improve vision and visual processing. This service is often used by children who are struggling with reading or learning. We provide therapeutic eye drops if needed for minor eye conditions such as conjunctivitis. We are able to examine and monitor for eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataract, diabetic eye disease and age related macular degeneration.

Are you keeping an eye on your screen time? ⏰

With more time spent on our phones and devices, it's essential to be aware of how it affects our eyes. Digital eye strain, also known as computer vision syndrome, can cause a range of symptoms, including:

πŸ‘“ Eye fatigue
πŸ‘οΈ Blurred vision
😩 Headaches
πŸ‘€ Dry eyes
πŸ“± Increased sensitivity to light

But don't worry - there are steps you can take to reduce digital eye strain:

πŸ” Take regular breaks: Follow the 20-20-20 rule - every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.
πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ Move around: Get up, stretch, and give your eyes a break from the screen.
πŸ’§ Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your eyes moist and comfortable.
πŸ•ΆοΈ Use blue light filters: Consider using blue light-blocking glasses or software to reduce eye strain.
πŸ“± Adjust your screen: Increase font sizes, adjust brightness, and position your screen at eye level to reduce glare and strain.

🌊 Did You Know?

Water is not a friend to your contact lenses. It's a home to tiny organisms that can lead to serious eye infections.

- Even the cleanest water contains microbes invisible to the naked eye.

- These microbes can cling to your contact lenses and harm your eyes.

πŸ‘€ Don't mix water and contact lenses!
