🍞 Emerald Glades residents tried their hand at a true classic today as part of their Globetrotting adventures.

Irish Soda Bread has been a staple of Irish kitchens since the 1840s, with baking soda replacing yeast as a quick and affordable alternative. This was because Irish wheat didn't react kindly with yeast, but its popularity declined for a time when imported high-gluten flours became available.

By the 1960's, Soda Bread was making a comeback in fine-dining restaurants as a nod to the Irish past, and we can see why!

Simple, hearty and absolutely delicious, it is easy to see why this recipe stood the test of time!
