A frequent question asked is the differences between art therapy and using art as a therapy.

Here is the answer:

Art as therapy is a leisure activity that can evoke feelings of satisfaction and achievement through the act of creation. Art therapy is an evidence-based treatment that uses techniques from art as therapy while focusing on self-reflection and navigating emotional challenges.

Art therapy is all about processes and not the end product.

I am Linda and I am an independent mental health nurse (RN Div 1), Family Therapist and have post graduation qualifications in Initiatic Sensorimotor Art & Clayfield Therapy. In addition to these qualifications I also hold a post graduate qualification in developmental psychiatry.
My employment history includes, Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Health, Headspace and GP clinics. (All mental health)
