Emotions can often build up when we try to suppress them or ignore them. This may lead to stress and tension. Leading to longer term negative impacts on our mental health and our relationships. Suppressing emotions can hinder our ability to address underlying conflicts, problems or set healthy boundaries.

Rather than suppressing or ignoring emotions it is better to develop healthy strategies to deal with our feelings in real time, whenever possible.

Basic Self Care can often be neglected due to a busy life and always putting self last.

A Basic Self Care plan helps improve our mental health and restore our energy. A good plan also helps us regulate our nervous system as well as help us maintain 4 key connections in our lives. These 4 connections are what I refer to as the 4 pillars, the connection with self, others, purpose and belonging.

What are the basics? good gut health, good sleep routines, fitness, calming practices, stress regulation and positive activities.
