🎊 Celebrating Chinese New Year at Forest View! 🧧🐉

What a fantastic celebration we had bringing in Chinese New Year with our very own Chinese pop-up restaurant!

Our awesome kitchen team prepared a delicious Chinese buffet that was beautifully presented and absolutely enjoyed by all. From the flavours to the decorations, it truly felt like a special cultural experience right here at Forest View.

The pop-up restaurant was a huge hit, filled with laughter, full plates, and happy hearts. ❤️

We love creating moments that celebrate culture, community, and connection.

Flippin’ good fun for Shrove Tuesday! 🥞
We stacked, we topped, and we definitely indulged! From classic lemon and sugar to over-the-top creations, everyone enjoyed designing their very own pancake masterpieces. A delicious day filled with joy (and maybe a little extra syrup 😉).

Here at Forest View Care, we stand by this motto. We are here to support our ageing members of the community to live as comfortably as possible. This extends throughout our aged care facility, retirement village and supporting people to stay independent in their own homes and connected to the community. Love and friendships have certainly been in the air this week at Forest View! 💖

We got creative making some unique Valentine’s cards that are sure to impress, and whipped up some delicious chocolate bark filled with all sorts of goodies in our cooking class.

Today we celebrated with a lovely morning tea together, followed by Valentine-themed bingo in the afternoon — all while enjoying some fun “Love Boat” floats!

A special thank you to Des Allan & Co for generously providing each resident with sweet little chocolate bags to enjoy tomorrow. Your kindness is truly appreciated 🍫💝

What an amazing Waitangi Day cultural experience we were blessed to share this morning 💙
One of our very own RNs generously shared her beautiful culture with us, making the morning truly special.

She shared stories about playing with poi as a child, her family’s traditional korowai (cloak), and the meaning behind her moko kauae (traditional female face tattoo). Residents also had the opportunity to experience a hongi, the traditional Māori greeting of pressing noses.

In a very special moment, our Service Manager was gifted a pounamu — a treasured greenstone found only in New Zealand and traditionally given to those who are deeply respected and special to you.

We love sharing and celebrating different cultures here at Forest View, learning from one another and embracing traditions from around the world. Such a meaningful and interesting experience for everyone involved 🌿✨

Fun & fabulous Aussie Day festivities enjoyed at Forest View!
We kicked things off with a bit of thong throwing, followed by an Aussie town-name game, ball games, egg and spoon race,quizzes and tried our hand at traditional damper making,it was yummy!. The day wrapped up with some true-blue Aussie bingo while everyone tapped along to classic Australian tunes 🎶🦘
To top it all off, our amazing kitchen staff prepared a special Australian-themed lunch for everyone to enjoy. What a ripper day all round!
