Forest View Care extensively thanks Nutrien Ag Solutions, dearly, alongside our Childers and close surrounding communities, for their ongoing support as we continue to serve our community.
The Common Community Area Meeting space chair replacement project has addressed the following needs:
β’ Our community area meeting space provides a central safe, airconditioned space for aged persons across the district, older than 65, who are seeking and receiving care in all forms across our district.
β’ Our service supports our community with not for profit community owned and operated Aged Care in Residential Nursing Home, Support at Home Care Community Care and Retirement Village Care.
β’ Any aged person wanting to seek aged care arrives to Forest View Aged Care and is often sat in our CafΓ© area. Our current common Cafe area furniture is not appropriate and does not have handles, arm rests and are very low, not promoting safety. We have had three recent near miss falls from unsafe mobilization from our existing chairs.
β’ Our meeting space is also used by Anderson farms, Isis Mill workers, and our volunteer Board who meet monthly promoting our organisation.
β’ Our cafΓ© space also has been built into local disaster management for the aged in respite emergency. In the event of a disaster, including power and water outages our cafΓ© space provides an air-conditioned safe space to receive care in emergencies by 24hr Registered Nursing staff.
β’ Our community and clients then will be sitting in the chairs for the duration of the emergency, which are hard without cushioning and not aged care appropriate.
Thanks to the Nutrien Ag $5,000 Grant we have already purchased 30 purpose built aged care, height appropriate chairs, which have been extensively critiqued by our Registered Nursing staff for safety and cleaning care requirements, and deemed appropriate for community.
Our organization is a fully accredited aged care provider and now a sole provider of aged care with local neighborhood center changing forms across Childers. Our service additionally provides comfort in the close proximity to the neighboring Childers Hospital, providing cafΓ© services and additional comfort for community members seeking Hospital refuge in their care support journey of their loved ones.
Our community cafΓ© is also a drop off and pickup point for the Childers Community Medical Transport Community Bus. These new chairs will provide additional comfort for clients seeking medical transport support in time of need.
The total cost of the chairs is $6,426.62, with our Forest View Board agreeing to fund the remaining total for the chairs not contributed by the Grant.
Thanks again to Nutrien Ag for you continuing support of Forest View Care and the greater Childers community.
