Sealer on the birdbath. Now we wait!

Im ready to make some regular time in the studio this year.
A little DIY restoration project to kick off the year is my Mum’s old concrete bird bath.
It had holes in the sides, so I’ve patched it up and covered the inside of the dish with paper mache cement. (Check out Ultimate Paper Mache for the recipe.)
I’m wishing I’d taken the before pictures.
I had a little bit of clay left over so I fashioned a little bird to sit on the edge.
It’s been curing for the past few days. The next step is to spray it with a sealer. I guess a trip to the hardware store is in order.
Testing will hopefully happen this weekend.

October was a month of colour and opportunity for new creative projects.

My recent works have been focused on Paper Mache Cement, where I have successfully created 3 pots for repotting orchids and 2 small mosaic-finished pots for succulents.
