People never cease to amaze me.

Time and time again, throughout pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum period, I witness women and their partners pushing beyond their limits—finding strength long after exhaustion sets in, and navigating challenges they never imagined they could face.

This quote resonates with me personally. I remember, just 30 minutes before my first baby was born, saying through tears, “I can’t do this. I thought I could, but I really can’t.”

In that moment, my birth team simply placed their hands on me and gently said, “Of course you can. You have the strength.”

Later, my partner admitted he had been “terrified” the entire time. But even through the panic, he found the strength to be my rock when I needed him most.

Morning, hope you are all off to a great start today.

I would like to introduce New Beginnings April & May 2025 babies, it has been a busy couple of months since I returned from holidays!!

One thing I really love about the care I provide during the postnatal period is that I continue to see families learn, grow & connect at a deeper level during the 6 weeks post birth.

It is a big transition. First time parents are navigating new roles in the relationship & as individuals & for couples introducing a new family member, it’s managing time with each other, the new baby & their siblings who are redefining their roles within the family also.

There are big feelings from everybody & it can feel crazy & impossible at times. This is when I see the village start to form or become stronger. I have seen some incredible villages & it’s not always family, it can be friends, neighbours or even strangers!!! Anyone that sees a need, doesn’t ask, just jumps to action to help any way they can.

Praise to the Village.

Welcome earth side to all our September and October babies 👶🏻 I am acutely aware of how privileged I am to be a part of all their journeys into this world and always so amazed at their mothers strength and determination to birth in the way that nurtures and empowers them to become super mums 🥰💪. I will always hold this space for anyone wanting more from the public system and themselves.

An amazing day to honour such an important but less spoken about part of some women’s pregnancy and birthing journeys. My heart goes out to all families that have experienced this kind of loss, be kind to yourself and share your stories, it’s a significant part of your fabric and we support you always.

Another busy month with some beautiful babies entering the world. Congratulations to all. I love that in Gippsland now, women have access to more choices for their pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey. Some choosing to birth with a private midwife within the public system and others choosing to birth in the comfort of their own homes. This is what we have been talking about for years “women’s choice in childbirth” and finally we are achieving it in Gippsland. I am and always have been privileged to be a part of this choice and am constantly awed by women’s power and determination to create their own journey. I really love my “job” ❤️❤️

Here’s some beautiful faces to add to our family for April/May 24. I just want to shout out a huge congratulations to each and every one of you women and your families. Some of your babies were fast, some were just the right amount of time and some took their time to enter this world, but you each met your journeys with enthusiasm, patience and strength. I admire and am so proud of you all.
